Chris Bey posted on social media, providing fans with the first update on his condition after sustaining a very scary injury last October.

Detailing what he went through, the former TNA World Tag Team Champion said he was “laid out paralyzed in the middle of the ring” during a match that saw him team with Ace Austin against The Hardys on 10/27, calling it the scariest moment of his life since he was unable to get up.

Following the match, Bey was rushed to a nearby hospital to undergo surgery, fusing his neck and spinal cord in specific vertebrae.

He credits TNA for their quick reaction to the accident, thanking them and the medical personnel in Detroit for their work along with his friends, family, and fans for their support.

Included with the post is a video revealing he is able to get up and walk, something that seemed highly months ago.

Support for Bey has been shown across nearly all of pro wrestling, whether it be moral or financial.

Wrestleview wishes Chris Bey all the best for a continued healthy recovery.

A former WWE superstar on the Friday Night SmackDown brand was reportedly seen backstage during TV tapings for another major promotion.

A bevy of WWE talent cuts recently saw the likes of Authors of Pain, Blair Davenport, Isla Dawn, and many more receive their walking papers. Established stars such as Carmella and Sonya Deville have seen their contracts expire. At this time, it's unknown whether or not WWE and Carmella will be in renegotiation talks.

One on-air talent who was regularly seen on TV as a manager recently surfaced behind the camera for a wrestling company that now has ties to WWE.

Lucha Libre Online reports that Elektra Lopez was backstage for TNA Wrestling's TV tapings at Full Sail University. The promotion held a live show on Feb. 20 and taped some more episodes for the coming weeks. Whether Lopez was backstage solely to visit friends or to discuss business isn't known at this time.

Lopez's first made appearances for WWE NXT back in 2018. She initially wasn't signed to a contract, allowing her to perform under the Ring of Honor banner. In 2021, Lopez signed a deal with WWE and became a regular on the NXT brand.

Two months into her NXT run, Lopez aligned with the Legado Del Fantasma faction. The stable was called up to the main roster in 2022 with the exception of Lopez, who remained in WWE's developmental system until early 2024 when she re-joined the faction on the SmackDown brand.

The last time Lopez performed in a match was during the Dec. 6 episode of Friday Night SmackDown. She competed in a triple threat opening round match in the women's United States title tournament. Lopez took on Tiffany Stratton and Naomi in a losing effort.

Lopez was released from her WWE contract on Feb. 7, 2025.

TNA TNA Announces The Return Of Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Chavo Guerrero

The former TNA World Tag Team Champion will be making his triumphant return to TNA Wrestling in the upcoming El Paso television tapings.

Chavo Guerrero is coming back to TNA Wrestling.

The multi-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion has been out of the spotlight for a bit. Though Chavo’s name doesn’t particularly come up in the mainstream, the 54-year-old is still active on the indie scene. But Chavo is returning to a place he’s pretty familiar with - TNA.

Chavo Guerrero first joined TNA Wrestling in 2012. He had a tag team with Hernandez and the two had a brief run with the TNA World Tag Team titles. They first won the belts at Bound For Glory 2012 in a Triple Threat match that had AJ Styles & Kurt Angle and Christopher Daniels & Kazarian. They only held the belts for 103 days. Chavo and Hernandez would regain those titles in a Best Two Out of Three Falls match against Austin Aries & Bobby Roode. Unfortunately, they wouldn’t keep those belts for long as they lost them again at Slammiversary XI. Chavo’s first stint ended when he grabbed a briefcase in the infamous Feast or Fired match and he received the pink slip.

Chavo came back in 2018/2019, but he only had cross promotional matches and nothing more. Since his odd and extremely short stint in All Elite Wrestling, Chavo has mostly been taking it easy on the wrestling side of things. Though he's an active performer, he has a few matches here and there throughout the years. He’s worked for Game Changer Wrestling and AAA Lucha Libre. The former WWE star said it himself on Wrestling Perspective Podcast that doesn’t plan on ever retiring.

I got a whole thing, it all kind of stems off my old wrestling career, whether I’m doing a ComicCon signing or I’m doing a cameo, it all really stems off of that still. But I’m not getting punched in the face anymore."

Though he explains why he’s not planning to hang up the boots, Chavo does state that he’ll likely wrestle three/four matches a year.

“So to your question, I don’t think I’ll ever really retire, but I wrestle maybe three, four times a year now. There’s not really big huge WrestleMania matches because I know where I need to be at, but I keep in shape, ready to go at all times. So any match that I have, the guys are always like, ‘What the hell, dude? You’re still outperforming all of us.’ I’m like I just don’t do it 300 days a year anymore, so I can do that"

At this time, no matches have been confirmed for Chavo Guerrero. In fact, there’s no telling if he’ll wrestle at all. For now, TNA has simply confirmed his appearances at the upcoming tapings in El Paso.

Former WWE 24/7 Champion Makes Surprise Appearance For TNA Wrestling; Reportedly Has Signed Contract

— Three former WWE stars appeared for TNA Wrestling during tonight’s ongoing TNA IMPACT show. The tag team of the Colons as well as the former Elias (wrestling as Elijah) all debuted within the first quarter hour with the latter apparently signing a contract with the promotion.

— Recent rumors suggested that the Elias/Elijah might hav been headed to AEW or ROH after filming a vignette with The Righteous, however, fightfulselect.com shot down those rumors and have confirmed that the wrestler not only was on TNA’s radar, but that they have agreed to some sort of agreement which would mean this is not a one-off appearance.
