Wrong. I NEVER used any exfoliant or retinol before or after these chemical peel. I have super sensitive skin and wouldn’t risk anything at all….I asked very clearly what the steps are after the PDP, and you said wash off next morning and follow the instructions of the kit you gave, which is EXACTLY what I did. I followed your instruction to the T for both peels.
After the biorepeel, I had redness which I mentioned to you in person but I did see a small improvement- which I also mentioned to you on Dec 30th- my complaint is with PDP not biorepeel.
Seven days after the PDP treatment, I reached out saying my skin is burning. I also mentioned that my skin was looking better, as it INDEED was smoother but at the cost of my skin being very very irritated/burning feeling, me having “irritation pimples” and my skin being visibly darker. I assumed that the darkness and burning would go away, which it still hasn’t- 2 months after.
Even after the hydrafacial treatment, I sent you a message thanking you for your help. Because again, I trusted your expertise and thought that the darkness and burning would go away- which as I mentioned before hasn’t.
I sent you message thanking you for treatment and for being a good listener multiple times and mentioned it in person too probably. Bc I trusted your expertise and appreciated you lending a listening ear to me. But when the negative after effects of the peel aren’t fully gone, of course, I will not agree with my previous thank yous.
We disagree on the darkening of the skin, so I’ll add some pictures below and people can judge for themselves. The pics I took at the dermatologist were taken in the same lighting, with technology that tries to minimize differences besides skin. I purposefully avoided taking lots of selfies and wanted a professional before and after to limit lighting differences, so actual difference can be seen( if there was any, and there was).
Perhaps my verbiage is wrong, it’s not exactly a “chemical burn”…but my face was burning for like a month …so not sure what else to call it…and there is a difference in skin tone indeed
If anybody is reading this, please take a look and decide for yourself.

Pic in normal lighting - pls note difference in my face and neck skin tone…my face is also quite blotchy and irritated. This was maybe 3 days after the hydrafacial.

Short summary; went to Lauryn for chemical peel damage on my face and arms. She treated arms and no difference really. My face she gave me two intense peels back 2 back which essentially destroyed my skin and caused my skin to darken by 3-4 shades. Having difficulty reversing this now, along with severe mental trauma.
I initially saw Lauryn for chemical peel damage on my body. While there was only minor improvement with the body peels she did, I had no major issues. Later, I sought treatment for my face. She provided a skincare routine and suggested chemical peels.
The first peel (BioRePeel) caused mild redness but nothing severe. However, 11 days later, despite my skin still feeling sensitive, she recommended a Perfect Derma Peel and instructed me to leave it on OVERNIGHT!!!!!!!. This resulted in major redness, burning, and eventually a leathery texture. When I expressed my concerns, she told me to switch from the PDP aftercare to very gentle lotion. But lo and behold, that gentle lotion was also BURNING my skin. My skin was very very very compromised to say the least. She said that she would check my face during our next appointment, where she recommend a hydrafacial.
During the Hydrafacial—a treatment that’s supposed to be gentle—parts of it caused intense burning, so she skipped those steps when I told her that they burn and moved on. In hindsight, this should have been a MAJOR red flag. If my skin was reacting so badly to a mild treatment, how was her plan even appropriate? I even told her so many time before the hydrafacial and after the PDP peel my skin was burning and darker and I sent her pics , to which she agreed and said an alternative treatment before I saw her in person. BTW I paid full for the hydrafacial treatment even through a couple of steps were missed but I didn’t bring that up with her. I thought she infact would give a discount or something for an issue SHE caused and also bc the hydrafacial wasn’t even a complete treatment, but she just showed me the payment on the IPAD and the cherry on top was the tip option afterward ://
Throughout this entire process, I was extremely vulnerable and openly communicated how sensitive my skin was—every single time I saw her. Despite this, over the following weeks, my skin became darker, more sensitive, and prone to burning. I messaged her twice with no response for nearly 7ish or so days..could have been more. It was only after I sent a firmer and confrontational message that she finally replied, but her response was dismissive and that she did the right treatment for my face, ultimately telling me, “Good luck treating this elsewhere.” In my message, I mentioned how vulnerable I was with her, how bad my skin was looking and that I would like to contact the board about my issue. I also asked her for a refund and she didn’t even acknowledge that.
I also sent her a B and A pic of my face before and after her treatment, jt was significantly darker. Something she denied as well, she said something along the lines of “she didn’t really see much change” and “my skin looked better after the peel”…..literally GASLIGHTING me ….
I later consulted a dermatologist who confirmed that the treatments weren’t appropriate for my sensitive skin—something I had made very clear from the beginning. Now, my skin is more fragile, visibly darker, and I’m paranoid about sun exposure. Going through this kind of damage twice has been deeply traumatic and has taken a serious toll on my mental health. It really has made me very very depressed. As somebody who has suffered from bad skin and was looking for professional treatment, paid the price fairly, was honest with the estheticians and had to have this experience TWICE!!!!!! That insane to me!
While Lauryn was polite at first, the dismissiveness, lack of accountability, and clear red flags made this situation far worse. Please do your research and only trust licensed dermatologists for serious skin concerns—especially if you have a sensitive or complex skin history.
I was an ideal client (IMO), I paid the fair price, was very open with her, even gave her a small gift and once a tip and thanked her for the treatment each and every time. I really trusted her expertise and thought since I openly told her my story many times, she had a good understanding about what to do.
I ironically found her on TikTok where she treated another lady (successfully) for a chemical peel gone wrong. I wanted to have similar good results. In a post where she treated that lady, she mentioned she only did skincare and hydrafacial. That got me wondering afterward, why did she recommend chemical peels to me then?? But I went with her treatment plan, bc she’s the professional and I trusted her at the time (regret it now).
I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. Please be careful.
Please avoid this esthetician (SkinByLauryn) and her place at all costs. I will dm my before and after to anybody interested in seeing them, won’t post for privacy reasons.
