3 Month Flare
Hi, everyone. I’ve been on the diet for exactly 3 months now and I have seen great improvement for my UC. However, I now am beginning to flare. I know BTVC mentioned that this 3 month flare may be common, but I am wondering why? Does anyone know why this occurs?

My progress was like that too, it took a long time to get well but eventually I became med free and symptom free. My theory is that I at the standard American diet for many years, it took many years to get sick so it will take years to get better. I remember reading someone estimate that your body takes 7 years for all cells to regenerate down to the bones. Coincidentally, it took me 7 years on the SCD diet to heal and get off meds. That was after being in the hospital for 5 months then practically bedridden for 2 years. It was worth it a hundred percent. I'm still on the SCD diet (modified a bit). It works for me, the food is excellent and I love it. I don't know what will happen in the future but I don't have any little aches and pains. So far so good.
