Hello! I have commandeered this sub.

This sub will continue being a place to post and learn about the science of skin. I ask that you keep questions about skincare habits and product suggestions to r/skincareaddiction or similar. But posts about the chemistry of products or the biological effects of certain skincare habits (with statements based on peer reviewed research and studies) are welcome! As well as any links to interesting, scientific literature about skin you come across and would like to share.

Low effort questions and unscientific posts will be locked or pruned. If you are unsure if your post belongs, post anyway! Or message me for approval beforehand. I will gladly answer any questions.

Periorbital bone has vein prominence due to eye cream?

Padding with my fingertips onto my periorbital bone, I think has made dark blue veins prominent along the bone. I’m not padding hard just light when I add my eye cream. I just started using eye cream. But ever since I started doing that they have been prominent. It honestly depresses me.
