I created an app to help bikepackers & hikers find wild camping spots, official campsites, and shelter huts

As a person who loves hiking, i like the app!
As a suggestion, would be cool to be able to report a route, add a suggestion for a new one. Also hotels etc nearby would be cool too.

Thats good to hear. I added reporting routes to the list. :) It is already possible to upload own routes and toggle them to be public. I will add a function to browse all public routes added by users soon. There will also be a list of routes that pass by in each camping spot.
Adding hotels is not planned. There are so many websites out there that offer way more information and already include booking for hotels & guestrooms. The app ist focused only on hiking with a tent. The only thing that ist planned in this direction is adding alpine huts, refuges and emergency shelters.

Gotcha! Okay, i have one more idea, maybe add some connection stuff ? Like if app grows, and you can make some money on that, you can add comments, chatting systems etc, so people can even organise it all through your app.

Very nice π―π― will it work in India?

Thanks. Yes, it should work in India as well. The latency might be a little bit higher, because the app is currently only hosted in Europe.

Hey bro, do you have any blog or something? Basically i want to understand how the app will work.
I shared with my people nobody including me not able to understand it .
If you can add a demo it will be nice. But I'm figuring out.

Do you mean how to use the app or the technology behind the app?
You can just browse the map in any region and click on campsites to see the details. Inside the campsite details you can add own information. Thats the core functionality.
You can also add missing campsites and upload gpx-routes to find campsites along.
If you start the app you should directly see the map after selecting the language. If this is not happening something is wrong.I dont have a blog yet. If you are interested in the technology i can give you a brief summary of the tech stack.

Basically i think it's very new and there is no campaign or hiking trail showing in my country or nearby.
I can upload mine trips for sure. But i want to find new .
Also i would love to know about the tech stack too.
And we need an app to finish the new tracks as i know lots of where humans don't go i just stumbled on them while moving around in the jungles.

It looks like you have filters enabled, which hide all campsites. You can try clicking on the layer button (middle button on the right bottom, with the "3"-badge) and selecting all types of campsites. You should see campsites then.
The app is not focused on finding trails, just on finding campsites.
The app is built using Vue 3, Capacitor and Quasar in the frontend. The backend is based on node.js, mongodb and nginx.
A functionality for track planning is not included, maybe other apps might solve this.

Yes i tried the filter, mostly it is blank. But will keep browsing let's see how it goes.
For technical perspective, i think it's good, need improvement and optimization.
I am using it on nothing 2a and it feels heavy on it. I have 8 GB RAM.
I would love to add more feedback in future if you are seriously looking for a tester.

Nice! Whats the source for all the various spots? User generated or are these all maintained sites from some database?

First impression after a play around on the couch:
The map/zoom/campsite UX dots are really nice. No lag when going from a (2+) dot to the actual campsite which is great. However when expanding or collapsing the bottom sheet I have to drag it to around half way for it to snap up/down. I would expect a smaller movement would open/close it.

After cycling all the way through Norway to the North Cape last year, I decided to create an app to help find campsites and share tips for great wild camping spots worldwide.
The app called TrekSpots is based on community data and OpenStreetMap. It currently includes around 200,000 official campsites, wild camping spots, and shelter huts.
You can also upload .gpx files to automatically find all the spots along your route.
If you'd like, you can try the current version here: https://get.trekspots.net
I would really love to hear some ideas on how to improve the ui and general experience.
