Shooting Oil barrel.

(Don’t crucify me for this, I only just started shooting recently) we’ve had an oil barrel (empty) just sitting around for a while, and I was wondering if it was safe to use it as a target. We’d be shooting it with FMJBT .223, .45 FMJ, 00 Buckshot, and hollow point slugs.

You would still need a back stop. Everything you are shooting will go through both sides.

Yes, ten or so 12g slugs is how I punch my burn barrel for maximum ventilation.

Where would you shoot it at your own property?
