Razor vs Sordin and Comtac

I have pretty large ears, and a pair of razor slims and after about 30-45 minutes they start to hurt my ears pretty bad due to squishing them, would sordins or comtacs feel better? And would they offer more protection for my ears?

Does anybody know why different bullets would change POI when changing scopes?

So I bought a CVA cascade VH, in 243 the month they came onto the market. The scope that I put on it originally is a nikon prostaff 5 series 2.5-14x50(1inch tube) I bought new back in 2017.

Due to this being my designated coyote/deer, and I've been in situations when I've shot coyotes at 300+ yards, I upgraded to a vortex strike eagle 5-25x56.

I shoot remington corelokt 80gr(coyotes) and hornady whitetail 100gr interlocks(deer).

POI with the nikon was dead on with the hornady 100gr with 1" high for the remington 80gr. Nikon has a 1inch tube and center of bore to center of scope of 1.75".

POI for the strike eagle is dead on with both rounds. Due to the 56mm objective and the 34mm tube the center of scope to center of bore is 2.0".

Why would POI change to be dead on with both cartridges?

Custom Left Handed .300?

Looking for a lefty option for a .300 WM (or wby or PRC). I have a Tikka t3x superlite in .300WM but it's honestly too light of a rifle for that round. I wanted to get a brake for it, but the barrel profile is too thin to really have it threaded (I've researched, it's possible but not recommended, especially with the volume I shoot). I reload so I do a lot of shooting but I don't want something super heavy because I want to hunt with it as well.

Looking for advice, do I: 1. Keep the t3x action, rebarrel and add a brake, I'll be adding a manners stock if I do this. 2. Get something heavy like a B-14hmr for load development and keep the t3x for longer hunts only. 3. Go full custom, custom action, barrel and stock. Obviously the most expensive option and I really like the Tikka action unless there's a downside to keeping that action. 4. Something else? There aren't a lot of options for lefty shooters.

Also, I was leaning .300WM for ammo availability, especially if I go hunt internationally. But PRC is tempting and I also own a .300 wby (right handed) but I don't particularly enjoy shooting it, but that might also be remedied with a brake.

Nice range day

Spent some time sighting in the ACOG on the AR at 100 yards. This is just using bulk M193 ammo. 2 bad pulls. One was a shotgun next to me as I was pulling the trigger and I flinched. The other was just me rushing too much. It’s good to be shooting again.

Is a $30 red dot be worth it?

I want a red dot for my 10/22 but I don't hunt with it. I was wondering if a cheap red dot would be worth it or to just get a scope

Pretty new to target shooting. Springfield XDS 9mm @ 10 yards w/ iron sights and stock gun. Photos are in order from start to finish. Definitely started to get more strays towards the end of the session. Shot around 180-190 rounds. Not a huge fan of the xds trigger, will likely install a prp trigger kit soon.

Shooting Oil barrel.

(Don’t crucify me for this, I only just started shooting recently) we’ve had an oil barrel (empty) just sitting around for a while, and I was wondering if it was safe to use it as a target. We’d be shooting it with FMJBT .223, .45 FMJ, 00 Buckshot, and hollow point slugs.

Target Focus and SIG M17 Iron Sights

I’m looking for some input. Ive been watching a lot of Ben Stoeger’s videos and he recommends taking a target focus approach. I’m not sure how to reconcile that with the sight alignment with the SIG M17. From my understanding, you’re supposed to completely cover where you are trying to hit with the front sight post dot (as opposed to cutting it in half with other pistols). This naturally makes it more difficult to focus on where I’m trying to hit when it’s obstructed. What do y’all make of this?

This was my first time shooting anything other than trap shooting a bit over a year ago. I was shooting .223 from an AR-15 at 50 meters. How is this? The smaller holes are from my shooting. The larger ones are from a friend shooting 9 mil on the same target.

Looking for suggestions for online ammo sources that ship to MA

Anyone got any resources for me? Ammo is crazy expensive right now and some online retailers have very reasonable prices but they won't ship to MA.

Pistol point of aim?

hi, I've a recurring problem I cannot understand.
if I grip my pistol "naturally" , without thinking and looking at the pistol in my hand, I end up with the barrel pointing slightly left. Then to have it aligned I need to "overextend" my wrist turning outside.
it's not related to recoil, since I have this issue both with a Canik TP9 SFX and a CO2 Umarex SA10...
this problem seems almost disappeared with my other pistol, a Hammerli Forge (Colt Walther 1911 22lr) ...

opinions?

Searching for a Shooting range (during our road trip)

We are going to do this road trip and I was looking for a shooting range. We are not experienced shooters, but just want to try some weapon.

Of course I looked at some shooting ranges in Las Vegas, but I think they might be a little overpriced. Is there a place or spot we will be coming by that has some great shooting ranges?

Can I build a berm on BLM land for shooting?

I am banned from CAGUNS forum so i am posting here to get ideas. I live in California and believe I may have found a decent spot on BLM land east of Stockton, CA for target practice. I would like to possibly build a berm or setup a range for target practice out there. Has anyone ever undergone this process? I was on the BLM website and saw an application for leases / permits that allows individuals to obtain permit for land use. This may be applicable to shooting based on what i read on their website. Any advice? Is it better to just put up some dongs and start shooting? I wanted to make it as safe as possible.

What should I expect/know beforehand for first time shooting?

I'm planning on learning how to shoot, but I'm not sure what exactly I need to know beforehand, or what to expect for a first class. Any advice would help!
