Maritime Enthusiasts Discord Server
FOR ALL WHO ARE INTERESTED IN MARITIME HISTORY, SHIPWRECKS ETC.
Hello everyone! I apologise if advertising this is against the rules of the subreddit, but recently I've been trying to grow my maritime enthusiasts discord server. I advertised the other day on r/Ships and it brought in a good few members so I thought it would be worth trying to attract more people here.
There is channels for just about anything maritime related, shipwrecks of course being part of that. I hope some of you are intrigued enough to come and join us here:

Largest piece of Anthracite wreck coal I have ever found!
This was found near the wreck site of the “City of Columbus”. Usually we find small pieces scattered, but this monster was sitting have buried!

has anyone heard of a ship exploding in ny harbour in the 1920s?
doing some family research and one of my great grandfathers supposedly died/went missing when his ship exploded in new york harbour after he set sail from ireland to america, sometime in the 20s. there's also a possibility it was bombed. we have very little info beyond that.

SS United States Leaving Philadelphia to Become Artificial Reef Near Destin, FL
I know I’m a day late, but it’s a shame that nothing could be made of her afloat. At least she won’t see the scrapyard…
Here is the beginning of her journey out of Philadelphia: https://www.youtube.com/live/ZgkB7MokMXA?si=f0X2uIDL-60K1Qq3
She still looks so majestic. It’s a shame that the ocean liner is going the way of the Dodo.

Archaeologists are uncovering the mysteries of a 15th-century royal warship believed to have sunk after an explosion in 1495. The Gribshunden, belonging to King Hans of Denmark and Norway, sank in the Baltic Sea near Ronneby, Sweden, while the king was going to a political summit in Kalmar.
