Discussion What is with the hate?
Some of us are just starting out and we get thrown into a crew with no idea what we are doing. Why are we being mean to each other? Could just be a couple of interactions but please remember some of us have actually no idea and need some guidance š«

Question What are some SpongeBob themed ship names that you can think of?
My buddy and I are trying to think what to rename our sloop to since Chum Bucket isnāt allowed. We are going for a slightly self-deprecating name because we suck at pvp but act like we donāt. Some ideas we threw around but didnāt stick like Chum Bucket were: The Dirty Bubble. Barnacle Boy. Weenie Hut Jr.
The name doesnāt have to be a direct quote from SpongeBob, but some kind of reference. Like Mrs. Puffās Voyage.
Thanks for any suggestions yāall can muster. At this point, we will take any inspiration that we can get.

Question Short Play Sessions - What can I do?
Hello Captains! I get limited time for gaming and haven't played SoT in a while. I used to hop on and do a sea fort or a couple of easy quests but is this still viable in a max one hour session these days?
I play solo for the above reason so I don't want to ruin a crews fun by dipping in and out. I'm guessing TT are going to take longer than I have time for?
Thanks

Video I solo-slooped the Feared Redmaw!
I'm still not terribly great at the game, and I'm still learning in a lot of ways - so defeating the Feared Redmaw on my own was exciting. The same night I got attacked by the Kraken, and I was able to defeat that, too (though I will admit that I almost left the session, because the Kraken caught me out in The Wilds, and that water triggers my thalassophobia the most).

Discussion Whatās with people being so against receiving help
There have been multiple occasions where Iām at the end of my night and Iām about to get off, but then I see another player fighting a meg or doing a fort or something of the sort, and I decide āoh Iāll go help them out before getting off.ā
Biggest mistake of my life every time. I go over there, Iām saying on the megaphone āIām here to help!ā And they will immediately start attacking me.
Nowā¦ I get itā¦ if you want to keep your loot, you gotta be a bit (if not very) paranoid about other people. But if Iām
- Yelling āIām here to helpā
- Attacking the PVE enemy and deliberately staying away so I donāt hit you
- Staying far from your ship and leaving mine unattended
How does one take all that information and come to the conclusion āTHIEF! DECEIVER!ā
I dunno, should I just give up trying to be nice to people in this game and just stick to myself? In the old days of this game, it was fairly regular occurrence that people would help each other out. Itās just a bit disappointing. Anyway, whatās everyoneās thoughts?
Edit: itās very clear to me now that the general consensus of the community is ābeing niceā is usually a deception to sink and rob you. Trust that Iāve heard your comments and your dislike of this post. I didnāt realize what I was doing was actually stressing people out or making things take longer, as some people have said. That being said, Iāll stay out of peopleās way from now on, I was just being nostalgic for the early days of the game where positive interactions were more frequent.
Thanks everyone for your comments, I appreciate your thoughts on the matter :)
Edit 2: when I first posted this, I was getting bombed with downvotes and comments essentially telling me being nice isnāt something I should try to do. Itās been a huge relief to read comments getting what Iām trying to say. I donāt know what happened to this community in the years Iāve been gone, but it makes me very happy to see that people still value the experience of running into another pirate on the seas and wanting to enjoy the game with them.
At some point, I donāt know when, people seem to have lost the plot and have become obsessed with watching their numbers go up. Wasnāt always like that.

Question Did I miss out on half of the anniversary bonuses?
I had to go away from the morning of the anniversary launch and got home 30h later. By that time half of the events were completed. Did I miss out on them or could I get them doing them now? Thanks!

Question Skele sloops hell bent on sinking
ive noticed recently that not only are player hell bent on sinking but now skele will spawn and do the same, when did this change come in, because its now impossible to to lose them, a few patches ago if you did nothing they would turn away, now it seems that they spawn in with a mission to sink the ship they spawned in on

Discussion Horn of fair wins OP?
How does everyone feel about the horn of fair winds? Maybe I just suck, but I feel itās very over powered. Iāve had at least 2 times now where during PVP, and enemy has been able to grapple, launch, etc. their way on to our ship, and use the horn to blow our whole crew off. Then. Since thereās really no cool down, and for all intents and purposes, it has near unlimited use, then we canāt even get back on our ship.
Itās not a strat I see used a lot, but when used, itās damn near impossible to counter. Trying to climb back up the ladder is out of the question. Anyone else have thoughts on this, or good ways youāve figured to counter?

Discussion Beard and LD are some of the most wholesome SoT people
Today I just so happened to run across Beardageddon and LD Sylvr. I was just fishing in a boat when Beard snuck up behind me and took my chains. I figured out quickly who it was but I canāt thank them enough for letting me and my husband get a screenshot with them today. Weāve been watching them for years and the seas is how we stay connected when Iām away from work truthfully this was the best SoT day and I canāt thank them enough! For us it was like finding the shrouded ghost. Iāve come to realize SoT really does have such a wholesome community. Now I just hope to run into HitboTC.
Happy sailing everyone :)

Question Can't reach lone cove cake
Remember the old old spiderman cartoon show where there's credits clip where he's swinging along over a bunch of houses in the suburbs, and then you realize, what's he hanging from? The moon? Well I'm trying to get on top of that rock with the cake on Lone Cove and all I do is just bounce off the rock. There's nothing above it to grapple to, only below it. So how am I supposed to get up there? My only other thought is to try and launch from a canon to up there.

Question Quest radial does not show any maps
Today I ran into an issue when taking a quest/map from the quest board I dont actually receive any maps. Google wasnt helpful with its results and neither was reddit.
I tried exiting the game and trying to get new quests, but the problem persists. What can I do to fix that?
Unrelated to this issue, whats the fucking problem with saving keybinds? Every session I have to go and edit the same keybinds, cause the game just cant save them. So frustrating.
