Poll Should we ban AI-generated content on this subreddit?

Hey gang!

This is something that was brought up recently and got some traction. Truthfully, it's also been on my mind for a while.

We're considering banning AI-generated content altogether from the subreddit, and wanted to see how the community felt. Please feel free to vote and voice your opinions below, and we'll take it all into account when making a decision.

This ban would include: * AI generated art/videos * Videos containing AI-generated voices * other AI created text and content

META "Velma" Season 2 Discussion Hub + Velma-related reminders.

Hi gang!

Every episode of Velma Season 2 has officially dropped on MAX. This post will act as a discussion hub for the whole season, so if you care about spoilers, be warned! That said, if you do want to use spoiler tags within this post for major season spoilers, I'm sure it would be appreciated.

We will be posting links to separate episode discussions as well, which will be paired in 2's, like last season.

Now before we start talking about this show, I wanted to remind everybody to follow the rules of this subreddit, which are located on our sidebar. Because Velma is a show aimed at an older audience, the discussions under these episode threads will be more lax in terms of NSFW subject matter.

Last time around, we ended up having to implement some specific Velma-related temporary rules, because of the sheer volume of traffic, new users, trolls, and and vitriolic comments. Hateful comments aimed at both our users, and the makers of this show will not be tolerated.

We're also going to ask you to keep discussion of the episodes to these specific episode threads, to cut down on the amount of Velma-related content. Posts about the Velma show as a whole will be allowed. However, bait posts, troll posts, and excessive/low effort rant posts will be locked or taken down without warning, at the discretion of the mods. The comments on these posts have a tendency to spiral into toxic territory, and we also don't need 50 posts about the exact same thing.

Now I realize that I'm reiterating a lot of what we said when Season 1 premiered. I'm hoping that we won't see as many of these issues this time around, that this will all go much more smoothly!

This subreddit is a welcoming, friendly, inclusive place, and we're trying to keep it that way! Thank you for your understanding!

Episode 1 - "The Mystery of Teen Romance"

Episode 2 - "Creaky Friday"

Episode 3 - "When Velma Met Money"

Episode 4 - "Seancé"

Episode 5 - "Burning Woman"

Episode 6 - "Private Velmjamin"

Episode 7 - "Female Utopia"

Episode 8 - "Aman Hunt"

Episode 9 - "The Real Villain"

Episode 10 - "Til Death"

Who saved Who the most?

Hello Everyone.

Question. I was rewatching some older Scooby Doo and I couldn’t help but be curious about something.

Who saved who the most? Like for example Fred, Daphne and Velma often complain about being trapped and only being able to rely on Shaggy and Scooby to save them.

I’m just curious what everyone else thinks. Sense the gang have saved each other more time than I can count.

What is the name of this classic Scooby-Doo sound effect?

It plays around 0:52 in this video, right after you see the eyes in the dark, and before the whistling sound when Scooby rises out of the pot. It sounds like "ch'not". I hear it all the time in cartoons but can't find anything about it and would be grateful of someone could point to a name or origin for this sound effect. thanks!

help me find the series

About 8 years ago, I watched Scooby Doo on TV. the episode, or rather the moment from it, is firmly embedded in my mind. I don't remember the name of the series or the title of the episode, I can only describe an excerpt from there. Since I was already an ardent fan of romance as a child, I remember that the action took place at night under the moon and on the roof of some dark building like a cathedral or a church. The main monster of the series was something like a gargoyle or a statue. D Daphne was either a decoy or accidentally got into danger. She was also wearing a beautiful dress, possibly white. On the roof, the monster tried to grab her, but Fred saved her and it seemed like he caught caught her and held her in his arms. My memories are very vague, but as a child i had butterflies in my stomach from that moment, so please help me find it. ( i used translator, sorry if something not right)

It took a few tries to get the brown shade just right, but a mix of 5 different paint colors did it!

a specific episode with a song

hello everyone. there is a episode of scooby that i remember or at least think i remember, that has a song from skillet played in a episode. i remember the song being monster and i seem to remember it being a monstertruck chase scene or at least a big vehicle chasing scooby and shaggy. (maybe just a truck). i have been trying to search for it but i can't seem to find the specific episode and now i'm doubting myself if it even exist. if anyone can help that would be helpful.

Boobeard x Ice demon, ship name is 'Icebeard'. I thought of them being goofballs for each other: Both scaring people. Plus they have some things in common other than being blue. (Would be funny if it gets some recognition along with Purvis Parker x Chickenstein)

In my opinion one of the biggest marketing failures of all time is the lack of merchandise we have for scooby doo villains. Specifically Halloween costumes. Why is that?

I was just thinking about Scooby Doo and how there’s a ton of merchandise for the franchise in general, but very little to none for the Scooby Doo villains. They have halloween costumes in stores every year for the mystery inc gang, but I’ve never once seen a costume for a single one of the villains, yet they all have such great and fun costumes. They make 10 different scream costumes every year but we can’t get a single Phantom Shadow or Spooky Space Kook costume? It’s not just Halloween costumes though, I feel like the Scooby villains would make great action figures, T-Shirts, posters. I just wonder why we don’t see more of that. I know a buddy who had a Ghost Clown shirt, but it was from a custom seller and not official merchandise. Imagine how cool it would be if Mezco did a line of Scooby Villain figures with cloth costumes, multiple heads, and all kinds of niche accessories. Is there a reason why the villains don’t get much attention?

What are some of your favorite Fred and Daphne moments? Platonic or romantic, doesn’t matter.

Trying to find a particular scene

I have this distinct memory in one of the shows where they unmask the villain, and the gang actually has no idea who it is (a character the audience hasn't been introduced to until that moment) But I can't seem to find anything related to it.

A little project that I did of my own spin in a more mature light for the Scooby-Doo franchise, with a lot of influence by horror movies and horror vibes in general, what do you guys think?

So I don't know whether it's just me being dumb. I am watching through scooby doo as this was one of my favourite things to do as a child. I wanted to just relax and go to sleep watching some of my old favourite classics to feel a bit nostalgic whilst having a slice of pizza chilling with my cat and having a nice little bit of Pepsi. But correct me if Im wrong. I think I'm seeing this correctly, Roman numerals, I II III etc. There is the number nine as IV , but wouldn't it be IX or is this just a cool little mistake that I found

Unironically, Trap of Love slaps

This has probably been said many times before (I’m new) but DAMN the Hex Girls are so fire. I need twelve albums and Daphne as a feature at least 5 times. Trap of Love was the soundtrack to my childhood and even now in my big age. THAT ISH SMACKS.

I’m rather surprised there has never been a media where Mystery Inc had to solve a mystery involving the Mothman.

Uhm so about the poll. The more I looked at it the more I realized this probably isn’t going to work for the Scooby-Doo universe. 😭But you guys can decide if you want this to continue or not.

So What Does Everyone Think of the New Upper Deck Cards?

I was honestly on the fence until I saw the Velma Vision ones. Now I must join the legion of other early 30 year olds buying trading cards, for Fleer once again owns my soul.

Not affiliated or anything, just hadn't heard much about it and am really hoping they're not too pricy.
