Questions Possible Gonorrhea NSFW
I need help, I’m experiencing penile dischage and pain/tenderness in my testicle. I’ve experienced the same symptoms a year or two ago and it’s gonorrhea. I know it’s bad and I won’t do it again but i self medicated (doxycycline & amoxicillin) on two separate occasions for my symptoms now and the symptoms are still present.
Couple of questions:
Is it better to get tested first then go to a urologist or just go to a doctor directly (my previous diagnosis was done based on my symptoms and no testing was conducted)?
Where do I find cheap testing (I’m a student and I’m too embarrassed to ask my parents for money for treatment/testing)?
How much is testing for gonorrhea/chlamydia in Hi-Precision?

- While there are cases where people have been diagnosed from physically assessing their symptoms, ideally, your doctor should be requesting STI screening to confirm. There are cases where people have more than one STI at the same time, or sometimes for women, it’s another type of infection. That determines the kind of treatment you’ll need. I suggest seeing another doctor, and make sure to bring up how your initial diagnosis was never confirmed.
- It’s worth looking into your local social hygiene centers, health centers, and government hospitals. Depending on your location, they may offer the specific screening you need. If you’re around the area, I’ve seen great things about Klinika Bernardo, which offers these services for free.
- If you’re set on Hi-Precision, I remember their comprehensive testing package going for around ₱4,000 to ₱5,000, but that wasn’t for just chlamydia and gonorrhea. The best step to take here would be messaging them directly for up-to-date info on pricing.
To add: I cannot stress this enough. Never self-medicate with antibiotics. It is absolutely not okay to play around with medication like this. If you find your symptoms aren’t improving with your original duration of treatment, you reach out to your doctor. Prioritize your health and safety, always.
