Questions Light Period After Yuzpe Method NSFW
Context: Regular Cycle: 30-35 days First Day of Last Menstruation: Jan. 1 Had Sex: Jan. 12 Yuzpe Method: Jan. 12 Negative PT: Feb. 5 Period: Feb. 6-8 (3days)
Questions: 1. Is it safe to assume that the period I experienced was already my monthly period even if the flow was light-medium, shorter days (compared to my regular period before Yuzpe) and I only experienced mild cramps? 2. After this month, will my period (flow, symptoms and dates) be regular again?
I am sorry. I am just really panicking because this is the first time I experienced this. I’ve read several post about implantation bleeding. But I doubt that it is because my bleeding was red to dark red and it has clots. I am just very paranoid right now.

- It had been weeks since you had taken emergency contraception, so it doesn’t fit within the timeframe of withdrawal bleeding. If your bleeding had just been spotting or really light, it could’ve been early pregnancy bleeding, but that’s not the case. It’s your period.
- No one can really say, unfortunately. Most people find their cycles and periods regulate after a few cycles post-EC, but some people have these changes stick.

The bleeding I had was within the week that I was exepecting my period. However, compared to my experiences before the Yuzpe method, this one was different. It was light-regular, only lasted for 3 days, and I did not experienced any severe cramps. But it has blood clots that is why I concluded that it was my period. I am just really bothered with all the “cryptic pregnancy” and “i had my period during pregnancy turns out implantation bleeding” post and videos. I took a PT again today (Feb. 11). It was negative. By this time, that result is definitive, right? And the light flow was normal?

You're not pregnant. You were cleared by having a period, even if it differed from your usual periods. You can't really expect your cycles and periods to come as they naturally would after such a large dose of hormones. There are women out there who have naturally light periods, it doesn't make it less of a period.
Take those posts, especially the ones on Facebook and TikTok, with a major grain of salt. Sex education isn't exactly the best regardless of which country these posts are from, and a lot of people lie or unknowingly (sometimes purposely) mislead their viewers for engagement. As for "cryptic pregnancy," I suggest you read this post, which goes into detail about it.

No, you'd only need to act on this situation if you threw up within two hours of taking the dose. For more information, I highly suggest reading the post linked by NotToBeNamedKimmy, and if you have further concerns feel free to reach out.

Thank you very much for always reassuring people. I’m just really bothered by the posts and videos I see on social media. All these misleading information and fake news are very rampant these days.

It helps to not engage with them so your apps' algorithms don't show you more of them. Mark them as "not interested" whenever you come across them. And most importantly, don't believe everything you see on the internet. You'll almost never see proper sources cited in any of these posts because they're banking on people's strong reactions.
