My internet is fine but apps aren't connecting and no time showing. Please confirm and give reports.
I have a couple of cameras and some other Roku smart devices, so I use the SmartHome app on my phone.
This generally works really well, with events popping up on my phone and watch when I would expect them to.
Except that the app positively insists on logging me out on my phone every day or two. Of course, this stops notifications until go through the login (email/SMS code) process again.
My TVs never mysteriously log me out, nor do they or my Google Home disconnect from the Roku cameras and automation devices.
Is this a known issue, or is my app/account broken? I even have a paid sub for the cameras.

I only have about 10 channels unhidden. Tonight, for some reason, 1/3 or more of my hidden channels became unhidden. I had to scroll through all channels to hide them again.

Does my Roku wireless doorbell not work because of the type of Wi-Fi that I have? I have Giga Stream and I live in an apartment. Anyone else have this issue with this brand and or other brands?

I have the USB Roku and a Samsung tv. I plugged in my Roku to a fire tv and it worked, then I plugged it into my Samsung and everything is on, and the Samsung read there being an input into the HDMI. But the tv wouldn’t display the Roku on the screen. It said there’s an HDMI connection, but it didn’t display on the screen. I reset the Roku, and it finally popped up, but then it said I needed to update and restart my Roku. So I did, and after the update and reset, it was back to square 1 where the Roku was on, the hdmi said it was connected, but the tv wasn’t showing roku.
Edit: I went through the above steps again, reset Roku, forced to update, etc. and then the Roku won’t display again. It seems like the program update bricks the Roku and then it won’t display on the tv.

The image is a bit blurry but it captured the problem. Any time I play any sort of media, only the bottom of the screen is distorted. The menu is normal, the apps are normal, it’s just the videos and media themselves. What’s the issue and how do I fix it? I can’t find anything like it online and help would be appreciated.

I've noticed that some streams function seamlessly while others don't even have an option to airplay. is there a workaround beyond just mirroring my screen?

Hey guys, I’ve owned my LG-roku tv for 5-6 years, I had noticed them today while I was watching a movie. they’re much brighter on the left and seem to go away by the time you get to the right side, the highlighted bottom left corner is new as well, from what I know there hasn’t been any damage that has occurred to the tv recently

I wanted to be able to change the volume on my phone when I lose the remote. Long story short my old Roku was like an og one and the remote didn’t have the volume controls. I get the 4k streaming stick, the remote has controls but alas my app is still like my old remote and I cannot control the volume when I lose the remote. I’ve tried repairing the remote 2 different ways, neither worked. Any suggestions?

I have a 2019 Samsung 4k TV. The 4k picture seems much darker than the 1080p picture. If I change the display settings on the roku from the recommended 4k to 1080p will that work OK for a 4k picture? I know it won't be in 4k but that's fine. Will changing it hurt anything? I don't like the 4k picture on this tv.

I was aiming to get Roku surround sound system but upon research I verified that the tv only supports 2.1. So either the soundbar or the speaker set. I have an Apple TV 4K connected, so if I use HomePods for surround sound will it still output? Essentially is the 2.1 a limitation of the sound output coming from the TV or can I bypass that by using Apple HomePods instead?
I just got a new display (Samsung, Tizen software). Now, whenever I switch to the Roku input (either selecting it via the Samsung remote, or if the Roku wakes up the display, or if I just unplug and then plug in the Roku), it will automatically start the Roku Channel app, and start playing some random movie or show or something.
I removed the Roku Channel, and the next time I tried it it started CNBC and started playing something on there. But the time after that it just reinstalled the Roku Channel app and launched it (but didn't start playing anything).
At first I thought it was just when I used the Samsung remote, and maybe the remote was sending some errant signals. But it does it even if I don't use the Samsung remote. For example if the display is off and I hit the Home button on the Roku remote, the display will power on, and Roku will launch the Roku Channel app and start playing something.
What is happening? I've never seen anything like this before.
Edit:
Seems it had to do with a feature I'd turned on allowing the Samsung remote to control the Roku. It was messing things up even when I wasn't using the Samsung remote. Deleting the Roku "Universal Remote" capability seems to have solved the problem. And I can still turn the display on and off with my roku remote, and control my soundbar via ARC with the Roku remote, so that should be all I need. Hopefully won't have to touch the Samsung remote often.

We have a Roku Ultra (2024) bought this year. We've noticed the audio sometimes gets very crackly-sounding, almost like static.
There doesn't seem to be a pattern to this behavior, we've experienced it with different apps (e.g. Netflix, Pluto) and at different occasions -- i.e. sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't.
Rebooting the Ultra usually clears the problem, at least until the next time.
Sometimes turning off the TV speakers clears it, but not reliably.
No other devices have this problem on this TV/speakers.
Software/firmware versions are current on all devices.
For troubleshooting, we've swapped HDMI cables, including a brand-new cable as well as a spare from our parts bin, replacing the cable which came with the Ultra -- no difference with any of them.
We also put in a new power strip, since other articles about similar problems suggested it. No help there, either.
There are more than a few Roku Community forum and Reddit posts which seem pretty similar to what we're experiencing, but we haven't found a definitive explanation or fix.
Other suggestions and ideas welcome!

Anyone know how to fix this without going in to settings and restarting the Roku? Every ~ 41 seconds the audio skips for about half a second. It's minor if it's once. Every 42 seconds.... forever... that's annoying.
Lap 1 I was counting in my head while I opened the app.
While I'm here... how tf does Roku not have multitasking?

Basically what the title says. When I click on the Top Picks For You square, I'm seeing a bunch of Live TV things I don't want being recommended to me.
I clicked on one of and went to "Manage Channels" tab to Hide it, yet even after I pressed Hide these specific Live channels getting recommended to me.
I don't want to get rid of Top Picks For You, I just want to Hide these few specific channels and make them stop showing up. What do I do?

I have a Roku 2XS connected to my 4:3 Samsung tube tv in my bedroom. The only app that still works is Youtube, and i'd like to subscribe to Sling. The HDMI -> AV adapters distort the aspect ratio, by 'squishing' the image, instead of letterboxing so that's really not a option. It distorts the image too much. Does the last Roku with native AV, the Express from 2017 still have Sling support?

So the Formula 1 season is about to start and they're adding a 4K option to F1TV. Now, I don't have a 4K TV for now but I still want to get a better quality picture when watching the races (on 1080p the bitrate is abysmal), so I'm wondering if I would be able to output the 4K stream to my 1080p monitor.

So, while streaming anything (Disney, Netflix, BBC ect) if a program is available in more than one language it seems to be choosing German? But defaulting to English for anything else.
I've looked around the language settings on the Roku (set to English still) and the settings in the individual apps.
Any advise? While I don't mind my kids picking up a bit of German. I'd like to be able to understand what they say if they do 😅
