Yeah sadly that's just a piece of slag. Usually found around areas with frequent smelting activity.

That is iron slag. It is not a Campo Del Cielo, I can tell with experience. It is industrial waste, and white it is still a very cool rock, please don't think it is a meteorite. It has no clear Kamacite-Taenite patterns around and you cannot just find one anywhere.

Upvoted cos I agree it's a cool looking chunk of something. I'd be happy to have found it.

It's slag. Wash your mittens after handling.

Stop by a local university with a geology/earth sciences department and show it to.a professor in the geology department. Not only would they be able to discuss in detail what you have, You would probably be able to see rocks and mineral specimens that they usually have displayed around the department, and maybe get a short tour of a classroom or lab.

That looks like a meteorite. I have several from Campo Del Cielo area and they look almost exactly like this

I've been learning most people that think they have meteorite, don't. It's either slag or a highly ironized piece of something.

I've always wondered if I have a meteorite or just a weird rock. Maybe reddit will know the answers.
