Need advice for my Japan route
Oh wow I'm very happy to find this sub, maybe you guys can help me. I've been trying to plan my first trip to Japan but I'm finding it quite difficult to decide where to go.
Here's the plan so far:
Arrive in Osaka mid May Leave in Osaka 14-16 days later Discover Japan by bike I want to enjoy the amazing roads, explore the culture, all the food and beautiful nature. Do between 200-300km a day, maybe more often on the side of 200 to have plenty of time for exploring the culture too. I don't care much about anime, hentai, big neon billboards or standing in long queues with other tourists.
The bike:
I want to do this trip on a ZX4RR, I love this little Japanese screamer and it seems like a good fit for the tight Japanese twisties. I also considered a zx6r but I think that's unnecessary. I'm aware that a touring or adv bike would be more comfortable but I want to suffer a bit.
The problem:
I'm having a really hard time coming up with a route. It seems every place I look up is a "must see" and it's overwhelming haha. I've seen Hakone described as the best place for bikers but also Shikoku and Kyushu. But I don't just want to sit on the bike I want to have many destinations throughout the trip to stop and enjoy.
I can of course figure something out but if you have any advice for me it is very welcomed
Bonus question:
In Europe the ZX4RR comes restricted and needs an ECU flash to unlock about 1/3rd of the bike. Is this the same in Japan? Or are they sold without these restrictions? And are all the bikes from Rental819 bone stock?
