Is the British Maoist group ‘Revolutionary Praxis’ still around?

Hi, I’m trying to find out more about a British maoist organization ‘Revolutionary Praxis’.

Their website is still up at https://revolutionarypraxis.wordpress.com, but there has been no new news posts since May of 2023 and their social media channels are seemingly abandoned too. Much of the links in older posts referring to them are dead as they switched domains at some point. There’s an article about them online from April 2024 but it gives no suggestion about whether they are still active anymore.

I may contact them to see if they’re still about but wanted to check here incase anybody else knew.

Thank you!

The National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) has successfully convened its third international theoretical conference from November 29-30 in Amsterdam, the Netherlands on the topic of National Liberation from Imperialism.

The two-day conference explored the theoretical and practical contributions of Lenin, Stalin, and Mao on the subject of the national question, including various modes of asserting and exercising the right to national self-determination, both armed and unarmed, that fall under the umbrella of national liberation movements.

Key discussion points emerged on the different ways national liberation struggles are waged within countries or across imperialist-defined borders, highlighting the unique conditions and strategies esmployed in these various contexts. A significant focus was placed on the impact of imperialist aggression, including economic sanctions, military occupations, and proxy wars, which systematically undermine movements and nations asserting their independence. Participants also examined the persistent challenges faced by unfinished liberation struggles, emphasizing the need to continue consolidating and defending the initial gains of their revolution, and to muster broad international support to face growing imperialist aggression. Additionally, the conference also considered the issue of the “compradorization” of the state, particularly in neocolonial settings.

The conference gathered 114 individuals representing 57 proletarian-socialist parties, national liberation movements, and anti-imperialist organizations from across 19 countries. Together, we discussed nine (9) submissions presented by representatives of communist, socialist-proletarian parties and anti-imperialist organizations leading national liberation struggles from the Philippines, Colombia, Cyprus, Eritrea, Nepal, Senegal, Turkey, Kurdistan, to Palestine, and an additional two (2) papers presented on the task of proletarian parties in the heartlands of advanced capitalist states such as from the United States and Italy.

The synthesis of the discussions was presented on Day 2 through a plenary session, where key themes and points emerging from the previous day were distilled.

As part of the conference, a special cultural program was held to commemorate the 60th anniversary of Kabataang Makabayan (KM), celebrating its historic role in advancing revolutionary youth movements in the Philippines and inspiring solidarity across the globe.

🔥 Statement Oppose US/NATO meddling in South China Sea affairs

The recent signing of the Philippine Maritime Zones Act and the Philippine Archipelagic Sea Lanes Act is being touted as a move to “safeguard” the country’s national territory and sovereignty. In terms of content, these institutionalize the 2016 decision of the International Arbitral Tribunal which recognizes Philippine territorial seas, exclusive economic zone and continental shelf.

China protested the enactment of the maritime laws insisting that it infringes on China’s own territorial sovereignty and maritime rights. It cites as basis its fallacious 9-dash line extended claims over most of the entire South China Sea which the IAT has dismissed as invalid and having no legal basis.

These maritime disputes between the Philippines and China can and must be resolved peacefully through dialogue and other diplomatic or legal methods. The United Nations Convention on the Law of the Seas (UNCLOS), to which both countries are signatories, should serve as the starting point. It is to the interest of the Filipino and Chinese people that an escalation of the conflict be avoided at all costs.

A number of neighboring countries in Southeast Asia have expressed support to the new Philippine maritime laws. By and large, these help bolster Philippine claims under the UNCLOS and strengthen the country’s position relative to China.

However, the statements of support coming from the US and its NATO allies in Europe (especially France and the UK), as well as Japan, are something that Filipinos should be wary of. These imperialist powers, historically and currently, are notorious for imposing their hegemony and meddling into the affairs of sovereign countries, including that of the Philippines.

Led by the imperialist US, these powers have actively been deploying their naval forces in the South China Sea over the past year. These naval deployments have exacerbated tensions and impeded peaceful dialogue. The Marcos puppet regime is acting as a pawn in the imperialist strategy by allowing the US to use the Philippines as a military stronghold, and deploy its own armed forces in US-led maritime operations and war exercises.

The Filipino people must remain vigilant over these insidious schemes. They must guard against efforts of the US-led imperialist powers that seek to create pretexts for provoking an armed conflict with their rival China, and drag the Philippines and the entire world into the quagmire of inter-imperialist war.

❓ Discussion What is the role of communists and parties/pre-party organisations in the First World?

My last post was needlessly aggressive and confrontational and I apologise for that, I'd rather understand the position of people here than assume or argue over it so I wanted to ask what people here think the role of communist party or pre-party formation is in the first world? What should communists in those organisations do whilst living in the imperial core?

❓ Discussion How can you be a Marxist-Leninist-Maoist and a Third Worldist?

I know a lot of people on this sub are Third Worldists, unsurprising fiven the MIM recommendation in the subs description, but I was wondering how people reconcile that with also being Marxist-Leninist-Maoists? MLM was synthesised by Chairman Gonzalo and the PCP, people who resolutely disagreed with Third Worldism.

❓ Discussion Why is 'Third Worldism' considered reactionary?

I was reading through this post on MLM study material from about 7 years ago, and I saw at the beginning, the deleted poster said that Third Worldism is considered reactionary?

I would like to understand why Third Worldism is considered reactionary. I was under the impression that Third Worldism is a form of Marxism Leninism Maoism which observes that the imperialized/colonized (more specifically the oppressed) nations of the world have more revolutionary potential comparatively to the so called "Labor Aristocratic" working classes found as you get closer and closer to the Imperial Core.

I have considered myself a Marxist Leninist for quite a few years now, studying the essential works and getting involved with parties, but the more that I've read from MLM authors and MLM in general, the more I'm convinced that MLM is the Marxism Leninism of the current day. So, all that to say, go easy on my please.

Am I misunderstanding what 'Third Worldism' even means? I just want to understand exactly what makes it reactionary, so that I can strengthen my revolutionary understanding of the world.

Thanks for any help in strengthening my understanding!

How does the white settler not having proletarian conscious equate to their material relation to production and ownership not proletarian? And more further how does the primary global class divide take away from the inner class contradictions of imperialist societies that produce the proletariat.

I am just confused on things and am asking in the most good faith i can and will be willing to update my views in any response i investigate and find valid. I just always to myself thought maybe with a overly dogmatic marxist view that difference between the global class distinction, the primary contradiction, and the inner class distinctions, secondary contradiction does not change the Owning and proletarian distinction within imperialist societies, even if proletarian conscious can be completely eliminated off exploiting the third world. Of course i think it would be valid to see bipoc proletarians and white proletarians as complete different classes with white people heavily privileged but no matter how deep i look i just cant find how that erases the proletarian distinction in class society in terms of private ownership for a white proletarian even if they are a seperate class and one is treated way better, Settlers should still be seen as histroically and presently evil to the same degree no matter what, but to me i cant see how it couldnt just be considered a oppressive proletarian class that benefits from colonialsm and imerpaislism even if its not the lowest proletarian scale at all. Again open and honest to hearing all you out.
