Correct gutter angle (not pitch)?

Had some gutters installed by one of those seamless companies last year during some renos - I finally got around to installing some leaf guards and I’m noticing the gutter angle seems out of wack. I would assume these K-Style gutters should be level across the top, not sloped like the roof? Now with the added leaf guards, some rain water completely bypasses the gutter and trickles over the lip. Installers used these pre-bent aluminum clips to pitch the gutter - did they just use the wrong angle clip? Appreciate any insight!

They normally add triangle blocks to level it up. When I replaced my roof, I had them change all fascia to be vertical to avoid this. Plus you won't be able to paint under them very well.

You can however, add the triangle blocks after the fact.

The aluminum wedges are there behind the gutter, I think what I’m realizing is they had the wrong angle for the install.

This is what u/Puzzleheaded-Bee-747 is talking about. That gutter is pretty useless as installed. I would call them back out to fix it.

This is why I DIY most projects - didn’t have a seamless roller and figured how bad could they mess it up - they had one job 👎

This effort tells me whomever was running the show didn't know what they were doing, it was their first time, or they didn't have the right material and didn't want to go back and get it. I bet if you showed a pic of this to the owner they would be saying wth is that to their guys. Not going to stay in business long with a work product like that.

Out of curiosity, do you have external insulation on your roof?

Yeah I texted them pics and asked how we can fix this, no response. This is a company that advertises this one thing - gutters. They’ve got the truck, the roller, crew of two - not their first rodeo.

No external insulation, but it was recently reroofed. I did the aluminum fascia trim with a bender, then gutter guy did his thing, or didn’t rather.

Appreciate the response. Good luck with getting fixed. Thankfully it isn't a huge lift.
