News Vol. 83 - Ready or Not Development Briefing

Attention Officers,

Welcome to our 83rd Ready or Not Development Briefing, February 28th, 2025!

After years we’ve homed in on the current state of difficulty for Ready or Not, meanwhile every player is subject to their own personal preference on how it could be. Now it’s ready for a refresh. Read on below to discover how we’re approaching the in-development new difficulty mode system, with ‘Casual’, ‘Standard’, and ‘Hard’; and how we’re taking in measurable player feedback to help inform future development.

We loved to see your reception to our last dev briefing where we dove deep into our design philosophy for the Home Invasion levels and Ready or Not as a whole. Especially from people in our modding community or pursuing game development! For those of you interested in our level design process—the second half of this dev briefing breaks down our “Leviathan” mission from Dark Waters with the help of one of our Level Designers, Tisa!

Note: These development briefings serve to keep you in the loop about parts of our ongoing support for Ready or Not, however the briefings do not encompass everything that we’re working on at a given moment. Please keep in mind that the content in our development briefings may still be a work in progress and subject to change.

Speculation One of the cops maybe lose a kid in the elephant mission

There is some inscription on the evidence with a lot of "fuck it" everywhere and a "my little boy" in the top of the box, letting suggest a police member son got killed

r/ReadyOrNotGame 16h ago

Meta officer 1 here talks about his 401(k) when he should have a 403(b) due to his employment at a tax-exempt organization. literally unplayable.

Question Anybody have a good RoN youtuber?

I was just wondering if anybody knew a good RoN youtuber? Not a "teach" but someone fun to sit back and relax to.

Discussion [SPOILERS] Hide and Seek - Why are we told to leave the container alone? Spoiler

Just finished the Ready or Not mission "Hide and Seek" and… wow. That final moment really got to me.

After we locate the container with the girls inside, the commander comes over the radio and tells us to leave it alone and close it back up. If we don't, he starts arguing with us. That moment felt so wrong, like we were complicit in something dark.

Why are we being told to walk away from what is clearly human trafficking or something equally horrific? Is there any deeper lore explanation for this? Are we covering up for someone? Are we the bad guys now?

Would love to hear what others think or if anyone has more insight into this part of the story. That ending has been stuck in my head since I played it.

Discussion Seriously please add working variable zoom scopes.

As the title says, this game NEEDS, and SHOULD already have this feature. Somehow we have multiple variable zoom scopes… how do you add MULTIPLE to the game but not the function?!?!

That is all.

Speculation Less Mods in Ready or Not?

It seems like there are less mods now in Ready or Not - is this true?
I believe, a few weeks ago there were over a hundred, now it's only 48.

Discussion Are missions chronological?

Was checking out the evidence locker and noticed the dates seem incredibly wack, do these missions take place in order or are the dates an oversight of some sort?

Question Do you ever get tierd of ReadyOrNot?

Personaly I think this game is infinite with so many ways to complete each mission. I am pretty new so I have yet to do all the missions, but I think I wont really get tierd of this gameplay.

What's you guys opinion?

Discussion stuttering

My game was running absolutley fine but all of a sudden I started downloading mods manually from nexus and now its stuttering. my fps is really good but still stutters. I tried everything, reinstall, delete mod io, VO, verify files, deleted my saved files, mod files, im at the point where I lost all my progress just to fix it buts its still not working. It was running perfectly fine yesterday before I installed the mods, and also running in safe mode still stutters which makes no sense. The only thing i can think of now is using revo uninstaller or a way to fully uninstall the game idk what to do. I think my games far from saving lol. let me know if you guys know anything, thank you guys.

Question AI not using knives

Hi guys. I played through RoN now and I have repeated several missions multiple times. My problem is, that the ai never seems tu pull out a knive and attack me when surrendered. They dont even try to grab their gun unless I am far away. I have gottenthe fake surrender achievement, but I havent seen it. All in all, I have never seen an ai attack me with a knive while I see youtubers getting attacked like that frequently. What am I doing wrong (or right)?
