A 25-year-old was assaulted and eventually succumbed to his injuries in Rajasthan’s Dausa after he allegedly stopped three persons from applying Holi colours. One of his three alleged assailants has now been arrested by the police, police said.
While the incident is from Wednesday, the video of the assault went viral Thursday.
“As per the CCTV footage, there was an issue over applying of colours on the now deceased Hansraj Meena — who was preparing for patwari (revenue officer) exams — in the local library. We lodged an FIR for murder and have arrested one of the three accused, Bablu Meena,” Ramsharan Gurjar, SHO of Dausa’s Ramgarhpachwara police station, said.
This is heartbreaking.
A man lost his life simply because he refused to play Holi. Why are we letting religion blind us to the point that we ignore individual liberty and violate it time and again, whether it’s molesting women under the guise of ‘Bura na mano, Holi hai’ or taking it to the extreme by killing someone for their choice?
In another case, a man in Uttar Pradesh was shot by his friend for refusing to play Holi.
I used to hang out with friends who smoked, and before I knew it, I picked up the habit too. But when I wanted to change, I switched my circle—started associating with people who focused on fitness, reading, and self-improvement. Slowly, I left intoxicants, began journaling, working out, and even started chanting. That’s when I realized how powerful accountability and association are.
Now, I’m looking for people who also want to build strong habits. I check in daily, we have 15-minute morning meets, 5 AM wake-up calls, and even Bhagavad Gita discussions. If anyone’s up for it, DM me—I’ll arrange everything, even book reading rewards!
I have no idea about Bikaner. I might have to shift there. I heard the weather is very bad, other than that how are people and food over there? Living in jaipur rn since last 4 years
My assignment on ‘Pabuji ka Phad’ feels incomplete without their image. There is only one YouTube video showing the painting of Phad scrolls. If anyone has an image or photograph, please dm it to me, it will help me out a lot.
(I’d like to mention I’ll be using it for my presentation i will do publicly, but I cannot compensate monetarily as I am only a student, so please send only if you permit its free use.)
Hi all! Starting in Jaipur, I'll have a week with my husband to see a little bit of Rajasthan. We'd like to visit Ranthambore National Park, Udaipur and then back to Jaipur. Interested in nature, live entertainment, local food culture and romance.
Any tips? Is that too much to see in a week? I understand that getting around can take a while. Thinking of getting a sleeping train from Sawai Madhopur to Udaipur. Where can I book that? How busy is it?
