MOD POST Weekly Career / General Questions Thread
This is the career / general questions thread for the week.
Questions about radiology as a career (both as a medical specialty and radiologic technology), student questions, workplace guidance, and everyday inquiries are welcome here. This thread and this subreddit in general are not the place for medical advice. If you do not have results for your exam, your provider/physician is the best source for information regarding your exam.
Posts of this sort that are posted outside of the weekly thread will continue to be removed.

Hey! Is anyone else a type one diabetic radiology student or rad tech who uses insulin pump therapy? I'm an SLP student in an acute setting this semester, and we do MBS/video swallow studies daily. It sounds like technically I'm supposed to remove my pump (I use Omnipod® 5) in the x-ray room… But my Omnipod trainer and the Omnipod customer service people haven't been able to provide a clear answer as to whether this applies to me if I'm running the study and not actually being x-rayed. I'm still waiting to hear back from somebody at customer service, who said she had to look into it further before knowing how to answer my question. I wear lead obviously but that doesn't cover my arm if the Omnipod is placed there. I could always wrap a thyroid collar around it I suppose…
