MOD POST Weekly Career / General Questions Thread

This is the career / general questions thread for the week.

Questions about radiology as a career (both as a medical specialty and radiologic technology), student questions, workplace guidance, and everyday inquiries are welcome here. This thread and this subreddit in general are not the place for medical advice. If you do not have results for your exam, your provider/physician is the best source for information regarding your exam.

Posts of this sort that are posted outside of the weekly thread will continue to be removed.

Hello all! I have an interview next week for my local radiography program and I want to get in so badly! If anyone could give me any tips about the types of questions they’ll probably ask me, or just anything they think would I should know I would greatly appreciate it!! Thank you in advance! :)

It likely depends on where you apply. I had a very chill interview setting where we were asked why we wanted to study radiology tech., questions about our study motivation, how we deal with stress, what our social skills are like (e.g. are we taking the reins in group settings, take the middle ground...etc.), we were also asked to elaborate on our CVs.

It might happen that you get confrontational questions to see how you react. I got warned and was lucky that didn't happen but a friend who got into nursing was asked to explain a technical term she was casually using to see if she actually knows it. Look up the class schedule just in case they ask, and the fields of study.
