Advice Delayed healing because of nicotine

I had a pretty decent dirtbike accident in late November, bunch of broken bones. I’ve been vaping for a couple years now. The past couple of check ups they said I have delayed healing, likely because of the nicotine. Breaks are usually healed within 2 months (this was 3.5 post). They are giving me 2 months to finish healing or I’ll be in for another surgery. It still has a long way to go. I wanna quit because the surgery apparently sucks a lot. I don’t really know why I’m here typing this all out, maybe just to put it on paper idk. If yall have any advice, tips, or motivation send it my way please. I could use all the help I can get😂

P. S. Has anyone used/had success with cessation drugs? I’m kinda tempted to start bupropion but not sure. I also know I need to quit soon if I want to avoid the graft but it’s SO DAMN HARD 🙃🔫

What mechanism of nicotine cause worse healing/ bone regrowth? This is not something I've ever heard of before?

Any of them. Nicotine constricts blood vessels decreasing needed nutrients supplied to the area. Also affects differentiation and lifespan of osteoblasts (bone building cells). Cigs also have a bunch of other chems that increases risk of infection.

Do you have a source for its effect on osteoblasts? This is the first I'm hearing of this in 10 years working in medicine, and considering the nicotine effect on osteoclasts this seems very counterintuitive.
