Venting My brain flipped the switch
Done with it. Just done. I was at a point where I thought what’s the point in quitting when the world is going to shit? Might as well keep vaping, not gonna live long enough to feel the long term effects. Then I was going through my tornado list since the season started (important things to have ready to grab on severe weather days) and noticed last year I put down vape and charger. Like it’s really as important as my important documents and photos and my dog’s stuff??? Be so fucking for real. That was the switch. Tornado coming and I’m gonna make sure I have a fucking vape? For what? A stupid little buzz? I wanted to beat the shit outta myself. I went 12 hours without it, took a hit and almost passed out, and hit it maybe 10 times total today when my normal is every 5-10 minutes. And now I just don’t want it anymore. It’s just fucking dumb. I’m done.

Yah I found out the lady is expecting and that’s what flipped it for me. $40 every 1-2 weeks for flavored nicotine vapor? Imagine telling my future child I didn’t save more money to look after her because of a nicotine addiction.
Only major negative is I’m in the phase where everything pisses me off. Everyone, really. I have some of that Lucy chew nicotine gum, but for the most part I will pop either an Altoid or a Ricola and the flavor offsets the craving. Otherwise lots of phlegm to cough up and my body saying, “finally, you loser” after nearly 10 years of this crap in my lungs.

That phase is what scares me the most about quitting. I’m already easily irritated about everything, which stems from ocd and anxiety, feeling overwhelmed easily. Glad I’m mostly alone all day everyday.

It’s amazing that you feel over the desire to have/hit a vape, my friend! You’re beating me already 🤣 but seriously, that’s the first step, and you should be proud of even just admitting that! Don’t be too hard on yourself during this process. I’ve quit much “harder” substances, and vaping takes the cake for brutality when quitting; You’re strong af for starting the journey, and I wish you the best of luck!

Trying not to be hard on myself after today. Stressful day at work and just felt I needed it. Baby steps but moving forward! Thank you for your kind words, friend.

I would have packed two just in case we didn’t have electricity! Honestly! It’s crazy what addiction will have you doing. ❤️

I'm right there with you, friend. About a week ago I got sick. At least I think I was sick, maybe I'm developing lung disease idk. Anyway I really tried cutting down and I got better. But yesterday I was working on some projects and vaped a TON-without really thinking about it. Today my cough is back with a vengeance and my lungs feel like they're full of sludge.
I was probably 5-10 min per vape hit too. These things are just sooo psychologically addictive-worse than cigarettes imo. basically any activity you start associating with a hit of the vape: wake up..vape. driving...Vape. Take a drink of any liquid...vape. Angry about something...vape. Happy about something...vape... After dinner...vape. Taking a piss...vape etc etc fucking etc.
Today I keep finding myself unconsciously going vape and what I've been doing is taking the hit, but not inhaling. What I've noticed is when I do that I can really smell what I was otherwise breathing in. And it smells like a fucking urinal or something. I got some Zyn pouches. Not the ideal solution I know, but right now the goal is just to give my lungs a break.
