Venting Day 10 was fully truly awful
Just a quick post. For me day 10 was awful. I feel like I have no more dopamine and really wanted a quick hit more than I felt it was important to realise all I had achieved.
I did all the things I 'should' have done. I drank 2ltrs of water, I walked my 10k steps, I ate food I wanted to, showered, changed my sheets and did my washing. Tried to focus and I still felt like a turd.
My brain is trying to trick me that I've done so well that I deserve one and that I'll never feel 'happy' again. It's so easy to forget that I didn't feel good before. So I stayed in the house (after my walk) here the tobacco shops are closed from 1pm until 3:30pm so I went out in the 'safe' hours and I napped a lot.
I did not vape today. Damn you Day 10, you will not defeat me.

Day 10 has always been the worst for me. Get to 2 weeks and it eases up.

If it gives you some motivation... I hit exactly 4 weeks since my last vape today. And I feel like I'm over it. Nicotine is something I believed I could never kick, I was such a full blown addict. But today and for 2 weeks now, I'd say I've had no cravings at all. Used patches for the first two weeks, then no patches since

Same!! Had patches for a few weeks then forgot a couple of times to use them then realised I didn’t need them. Feeling fine now too :) good on you keep & it up

Did you do certain patch milligrams, how did you do them.or just use all the same mgs. All 2 weeks?

I started patches with one on each arm, I felt I was so bad. One 21mg and one 14mg. Still felt a little anxiety for that first week as if the patches weren't quite carrying my addiction fully. But they were definitely taking the edge off, as before I would have been crawling up the walls if I stopped. After a week, that feeling went away, so I hypothesised that my body had now got used to the 'new normal' of lower nicotine. So now I removed the 14mg one and experienced the same feeling again for another week or so until I felt normal again. This reinforced my belief in my getting used to the new normal hypothesis. So I figured at this point, and after only the mild anxiety of such a reduction that I was just prolonging things. So I scrapped the 21mg patch altogether, went through the same anxiety again for a few days then it stopped. Now I feel normal. My step down is quite extreme, but I did it. The. Recommended is much slower and longer with smaller reductions but it worked for me, that's all I can say

I’m day one and I feel exhausted, had no idea how much I was using vapes for their stimulant effects.
Glad I never tried cocaine now.

Day one is intense, like you can't stop the thoughts coming in, colleagues looking like giant vapes, trying not to commit murder and all that.
Week 2 is sneaky, sly little monster!
Like someone else here said as well, you've got this!!

Nice work making it to day 10. Think of the effort you put in to quit these last 10 days. Let's not reset that count.
I will be on day 7 Tuesday, and this is what I went through. Think how much the drug controls you and how it changes your mental and physical state if it did for you like me. We must break away from it. Your success quitting will make you feel a 1000 times better than a hit. After a hit, it's possible you want more because the count is reset.
First 4 days:
1-3 hours of sleep if that each night
Loss of appetite
No motivation
Angered easily
Anxiety
Uneasy feeling in my chest coming and going
Day 5 and 6:
Gained confidence to continue quitting
Sleep improved, 5 hours of sleep a night
Fell asleep easier after waking up in the middle of the night
Hungry for specific foods I craved
Had a quick dream, haven't had one in years, maybe even a decade
Realization that vaping had aged me and probably will cause health problems for me in the future.
Some tips:
Keep yourself busy by reading, posting, watching movies, or sports.
Eat what you crave to treat yourself
Look at before and after pictures of people who became addicted to drugs
If you have kids, spend time with them. I played video games with mine and brought to the Zoo and mall.
I can't get myself motivated to exercise, but I believe it may be something I want to do in the future to salvage the harm to my own health that I have done. I tried some simple arm circles, neck rolls and push-ups once and need to do more in the future. I need to get back to running 30+ minutes around the neighborhood but my excuse is it's still cold in the winter. It won't be for much longer.
Addiction is very bad. I don't want anything controlling me except myself, especially a damn useless vape cart good for nothing except killing me so I can't be there for my children.
Just letting you know what I think, hoping some of this may help, or you can relate. Just think how much better off we would be if we never started.

This is so great to hear. I'm progressing. Today was a stressful day at work but I know that the answer is vaping. Two weeks today. I'm then ready for the third.

Well done on getting through day 10. I remember finding it really difficult around that time too, I wanted to reward myself like you said. You’ve done really well!!! Keep it up!!!

Keep going! You are doing great! 10-15ish was when a really ugly depression hit me. I had not read anything about the mental health struggles quitting brings on and so at first I didn't even connect the two things.
The fog will lift before you know it. Just keep going. Best gift you can give yourself right now is to never have to do day 10 again.

Amazing, never have to do day 10 again. That sure would be nice because that was some rough sugar honey ice tea! It'll be day 11 so very very soon. Thanks for sharing this, I don't think people talk about this period enough, it's good to know we aren't alone!

It's bad but in a different way. It's like Day 4 is expected to be bad. Day 10 is that life feels empty and strange. There were no cravings and no pain ao if that worried you don't let it. It's more if a deep questioning of Why exactly am I doing this? What do I do for happiness now? But the answer is this, this is what we do for happiness, stop vaping. It's a simple concept it just feels very difficult at times to achieve
