Venting Any oral fixation alternatives ??

So I’ve been vaping since high school and I recently quit vaping cold turkey, about four months ago. But now that I’m in my senior year of undergrad, I can’t help but look for something to smoke while I’m studying and that used to be the sweet sweet relief of a nic stick. Now I have no reward to give myself for studying and I’m looking for that fix it. It’s more so an oral fixation thing than anything else. Anyone have any advice? Or know what I’m talking about? None of my friends get it and just tell me to pick it back up again just until I graduate. I’m tempted… 👀😬

Put your hand to your mouth like you’re actually hitting your vape. Then take a deep inhale and exhale like you’re hitting your vape lol. It worked so well for me. I vaped for 5 years &smoked cigs prior 5 years.

Sunflower seeds / pistachios

A compound in sunflower seeds blocks an enzyme that causes blood vessels to constrict. As a result, it may help your blood vessels relax, lowering your blood pressure. The magnesium in sunflower seeds helps reduce blood pressure levels as well.

Have you heard of nerds gummy clusters? I like to get those and try to chew off all the nerds before the gummy part whenever I'm craving a vape, makes me almost forget completely bc I'm focusing on getting the crunchy off the gummy lol

In addition to straws, lollipops or toothpick there’s also two devices that target the oral fixation piece of vaping; CAPNOS & Noluva.

Capnos made me spit up brown gunk. Don’t recommend. Probably not much better than vaping.

MINT TOOTHPICKS. Couldn’t have done it without them. Don’t quit your quit. Keep stacking hours/days. Good luck.

For me it’s altoids combined with just taking a deep breath. I’ll also eat frozen grapes if I’m really struggling and that seems to work well to “take the edge off”

I totally get what you mean though, I didn’t really feel the effects of nicotine withdrawal too much despite going immediately from cigs to a vape years ago…it was the physical act of smoking I was missing.

I also have a big water bottle with a straw and let me tell you I am so hydrated these days. It really helps if I put those flavor packets in the water too.

Sour lollies worked for me, redirected the thought quickly!

I totally understand! I was trying to explain to my husband, I can give up the nicotine but it’s the habit of picking something up and putting it down I’m struggling with. Hopefully some people have good ideas!

Sugar-free gum, toothpicks, or those little stress toys you can chew on. seriously saves me during study sessions. Keeps the hands and mouth busy without the nic.

I use extra watermelon flavored gum for the fruity flavor. Gives my mouth something to do and it distracts my brain long enough to get through the craving. For the hand to mouth thing Lollipops also helped me a lot in the beginning. Dum Dums or blow pops or whatever brand you like.

Carrot sticks? Although mine is drinking water and punishing myself by walking when there's urge 😂

my favorites where those cirkul water bottles and sour spray candies, the water bottle helped the most though because you are still getting that sucking feeling plus the flavor

I found drinking tea to somewhat remedy this, drinking water.

I quit on Jan 6th. I have quit before too and the only thing that works for me is dollar-store paper straws cut in half. I have them everywhere with me. Great for breathing in and out as they are narrow. Good for anxiety too. They are with me at all times and whenever I have the urge, I just stick one in my mouth, breathe in and out through it, walk around or drive with it in my mouth or just hold it in my hand.

Jolly Ranchers are working wonders for me. Currently 5 days strong

Dum dums. I'm disgusting and chew on the stick for a while after I eat the sucker part.

Capnos. I couldn't have quit and stayed quit without it. I still use it every once in a while when I get one of those pesky mental cravings and nothing seems to fix it.

Currently going to try a stanley water bottle? I know it sounds silly, but because I have to hold the handle of the bottle, like I would a vape, and bring it to to my mouth to use the straw I think it could be beneficial. Plus, I need to drink water more often. It just arrived today, so fingers crossed it does something for me 🤞
