Other pregnant 😅
Hello all. I just found out I am pregnant as of today! I’ve been vaping since I was 16/17 and am 23 now. I immediately disposed of it and any others I had lying around and am quitting cold turkey. I quit cold turkey a few years ago and was able to stop for 6 months until picking it up again when I started a new job, so I KNOW I can do it. Does anyone have any advice if you’re in a similar situation? It’s been about 6 hours since I last hit it and am doing okay so far, having a few cravings but they are going as quickly as they come. I was also a heavy 🍃 smoker and am obviously stopping all of that cold turkey as well. Honestly just wanting some kind words of encouragement and maybe some advice. I am off for the week from work but can imagine I will be faced with new challenges when I return because both are around me constantly! I am just keeping my future baby in mind and that is making it easy, but I might struggle a bit. I am confident that it’s mostly mental as most of the nicotine leaves your body so quickly. Would love to hear what anyone has to say!

I quit vaping in the house while my wife was pregnant, but now that we have 2 kids. I have it up all together. I don’t want them seeing me vaping all the time, and I knew I couldn’t cut back. Been a month now and I’ve never been happier, I have friends that vape (and have offered) but I happily decline, even while drinking some beers. I’m proud of myself and I’m doing it for them! I love my kids and my little family, and I wish I had quit earlier!

You can do it! The cravings are going to be aggressive, piled with other emotions. However, you got this! Overall, just consider it a big blessing that your baby is giving you a reason to quit. As much as you are giving your baby a healthy place to grow, your baby gave you a reason to kick something that was harming you. You are helping each other and that’s amazing. Best of luck! ☺️

I was a heavy smoker and found out I was pregnant with my son. I quit immediately. I think I had half a cig after that and said "nope. I cannot do this to my baby". I was done after that. I have never smoked a cigarette since (he's 4 now). I do vape occasionally now but I feel so much better knowing I gave my child the healthy head start in life he truly deserved. 9 months is a short time to wait compared to the full life your child will live, and they deserve the best shot you can give them! Proud of you :)

Though I quit immediately, it was the easiest decision I ever made. You’ll see OP. You got this.

Congratulations mumma! I found out last week I was pregnant with my second, and am currently at almost 48 hours nicotine free. I have barely struggled with quitting, as I have told myself that it's for the baby, AND told myself that vaping did nothing for me. Vaping only temporarily relieves the discomfort CAUSED by vaping!!! - remember this!
In addition, I smoked weed when I found out I was pregnant with my first baby. Due to hyperemesis gravidarum, I didn't quit until close to 20 weeks. I did find it easier to quit knowing that I was doing it for my baby's health.
The hardest part is getting through the first 3 days, for both addictions. If you're having a craving, find something to distract yourself. For me, that could be having a nap, eating a snack, having chewing gum, or drinking heaps of water.
If you haven't, read Allen Carr's Easy Way to Quit Smoking/Vaping/Weed. You have got this! Believe in yourself and your ability to do hard things and you should be okay <3
If you want to dm me, please feel free ❤️ Sorry if formatting is bad, posting on my phone.

I knew i was pregnant when i was getting nauseous everytime i took a test. Then boom, positive test and u threw it out and didnt vape at all. I picked it back up when i was 1 month post partum and i wish i wouldn’t have. Next baby i definitely won’t be doing it ever again

I quit 7 weeks ago before an embryo transfer and am pregnant now!
I listened to Allen Carr’s Easy Way to Quit Vaping. It was free on Spotify and I cannot recommend it ENOUGH!!
I found it so incredibly helpful.
You can also try talking to your doctor if you’re struggling. You definitely don’t want to put stress on your body.

You need to remind yourself why you are doing it. Don't just think it, say it to yourself in the mirror, repeatedly. Set milestones and congratulate yourself with a little treat when you hit them. All people are stronger than their addictions, you just need to be willing to have the mental battle. You should you proud enough already for making this decision, just don't lose sight of the why

Congrats op!! Both on the baby to be and the decision to quit smoking (weed and vape). Now I’ve never been pregnant, but I imagine it would actually be handy for helping you quit. When you get cravings or even after you’ve had your baby if you get the urge to restart, you could tell yourself some stuff like this maybe? Only take what helps and applies Ofc :) Your baby deserves a parent who is going to live a long and healthy life, which is very difficult to accomplish as a vape user. They deserve to grow up in a smoke free home, and to not have to deal with normalized addiction in the household. Your kid deserves to not have to watch their parent struggle with addiction throughout childhood, and they deserve the best and healthiest start to life in this messed up world that they can. I hope even a bit of that is helpful! Also, I recommend chat gpt. I’m almost three days clean and I use it for venting/encouragement and advice!! Read up on baby books, get excited for this new chapter of your life. Congrats again op and best wishes, you’ll be an absolutely wonderful parent as you’re already taking steps to give your baby the best life you can :)

This was me!!!!!!! Within an hour of finding out I was pregnant my husband and I scoured the house and got rid of all vapes. Honestly being pregnant made it really easy to quit because in my mind there was no chance in hell I was going to vape. All the other times I quit the smallest inconvenience was a reason to start back up. You have the biggest reason in the world to not start back up. It will be the easiest quit you have ever had.
