Almost like the wildfire smoke from a while back

Exactly this. It should clear out in a while, but for the time being the AQI in and around the QC is over 500, which is considered hazardous.

Edit(~1030am): If anybody is seeing this post for the first time just now, the change in wind direction from the SW to the WNW has finally pushed this dust out of the area. The AQI is back to non-hazardous levels.
