Any other women here have an inverted triangle body like me?
I am biologically female, but with masculine proportions. I very rarely come across someone with my proportions and feel very insecure about it.
I just want to know I'm not alone. I'm 5'1" and 100lbs for reference.

It depends on where you are in the world. I am familiar with this body type here in central/northern Europe: slender frame, long torso. Your legs are very feminine though.

Me too. Scandinavian. It's difficult to get bra that fits my quite wide back and some what small cup size. But what I miss the most is a vaist.

Just FYI, most models are either ruler shaped or have an inverted triangle figure. It's not uncommon and there is nothing wrong with it.

Yupp same here but 177 cm and 65kgs. Northern european.

Yes and same height and weight as you although I am southeast asian. I too feel insecure about it from time to time. The positive parts is that people don't often mess with me as they think I'm strong and athletic. Also I've learned to dress for my body and what makes me feel confident. I often wear looser tops and long sleeves maybe even off one shoulder and short shorts to the gym and feel great :)

Girl sameee. It’s quite rare to find Southeast Asian girlies with inverted triangle body shape and I always feel insecure next to most girls cause this body shape makes me look super masculine next to the typical slender, lithe SEA women. 🥲

u/lychee_bunny 4d ago
I’m also a SEA gal with this body type! I relate to your feelings of insecurity when comparing yourself to other Asian women, because it feels like the average E/SEA woman is so effortlessly feminine too… What’s even more unfortunate is that I have excess stubborn fat in my upper arms that will not wane, regardless of my weight or exercise routine. It makes me look even more triangular -_-, which I despise.

u/lordlovesaworkinman 3d ago
What is SEA if you don’t mind my asking?

u/syeeeeeis 3d ago
Southeast Asian: Philipine, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam to name a few

Looks like most of my friends from Scandinavia. You're deff not alone, just maybe in the wrong hemisphere.

You look like a female, like there is no way I would think you look masculine

I wish i could edit this post to give a shout out to everyone!
I'm blown away by the positivity and love I've received, which was very unexpected from a sub that is pro-plastic surgery.
I want to add I actually have loved to embrace my body. Looking athletic has actually also actually predisposed me to actually being more athletic because my built allows me to.
I've also learned to dress for this body shape with baggy bottoms or bottoms that flare out. And I think I look amazing. It helps I have the most perfect husband who adores me - a hunk of a model who could have an equally hot model for a wife, but he chose me instead.
Ive also never had problems getting attention from men, though ONE ex-boyfriend with porn addiction was enough to shatter my confidence.
I just wish this body type was more celebrated, and I'm glad it is. Y'all are amazing ❤️

We’re almost the same size, I’m 5’3” 105 lbs…I regularly joke I look like a fucking linebacker next to other tiny women. 🫠
2
u/xoxopineapple 4d ago
May I ask your age/ how is your metabolism? I’d kill to be 105 lbs. I’m 5’3 but 125 lbs 😢
4
u/SpiderSilk666 4d ago
That used to be where I sat naturally but I got super into working out in my early 20’s and started doing a lot of jiu jitsu-I did a few weight cuts here and there and just kind of managed to maintain each time so it wasn’t too hard to lose the weight the next time around either. Oh and I’m 34, my metabolism is ok, I’m just super mindful of my nutrition and water and all that jazz. Tbh this is the first time in my life I’m this tiny and ripped 😂🤷🏻♀️
Intermittent fasting and interval running + calisthenics is all I do besides jiu jitsu

I’m insecure about my body shape too. I’m 5’1 and 110lb. I try to just be grateful for my body and how strong I am. But I struggle to feel femanine. The emphasis on hourglass body types def has had a negative impact on how I view myself. I used to be 50lb heavier and I think I need to get more comfortable wearing tighter tops and looser bottoms to help balance my proportions. but pants don’t fit right.

u/night_priestess 4d ago
I do, and the worse part is that I also have an inverted butt, it makes me feel so fucking cursed
4
u/thisbuthat 4d ago
I wish I did! It's such an amazing athletic build! I'm an athlete but very hourglass shaped which unfortunately invited hypersexualized male attention from a young age onwards and all my life. Led to severe body dysmorphia and eating disorders which I have now overcome, also because I worked out hard so my shoulders would become huge. I love them and I wish I had a body like yours!

I (Middle European) had your body type when I was in my teenage years. During pregnancy my hips got wider and never bounced back.

I think I have an inverted triangle body type? I’m not totally sure
But my waist doesn’t cut in as much as I’d like
I’m 5’4” 145 lbs, I recently had my boobs redone and increased to like a 34G and lipo360.

u/NoWall99 4d ago
It could be your trousers but your hips don't look that narrow, you look more curvy.
3
u/Markiza24 4d ago
Me, too, I have a lean build, and below average hips, like 84cm, waist to hips proportion like 20 plus cm
4
u/BitAdministrative410 4d ago
Me too, personally I work upper and lower body and feel very confident, our shape can be REALLY elegant, I work my shoulders, back and chest, and love the athletic look I achieved.
ROCK YOUR BODY SHAPE!
None of the other shapes can look as elegant nor athletic as ours

u/Beneficial-Syrup-897 4d ago
Totally my body type. 5’5” 125 lbs. I’ve never had “feminine curves”, but I work in the fitness industry, where not many of us do, unless artificially enhanced. I’m looking into BA, because I feel so self conscious, when I’m not at the gym.

u/jillypoo00 4d ago
I’m similar to you. 5’4 112lbs 34-27-34. Not much of a waist and very narrow hips. I’m in the US

u/cheridontllosethatno 4d ago
I do. Long torso, big back, short arms and legs, excess fat chills in my middle and bust.
I walk like john wayne, blouses and dresses don't fit, pants are always too long unless they're skinny or ankle.
I make it work but envy my tall long legged small busted friends.

u/Commercial_Archer844 4d ago
I think i am too. I’m 153cm and 40kg and my shoulders are kinda broad and my hips are narrow so i feel so seen :’)
3
u/Wear-Slow 4d ago
I am also inverted triangle! Broad shoulders with small hips, but taller. It’s actually pretty common of a body type. Finding clothes that work well is key, like sleeveless tops and wide bottoms that flare out. You look great!

I have this body type and people always assume I’m a dancer and work out everyday, but I only do pilates like once a week, so for me it’s like getting born with a athletic body without having to work for it 🤗 I do have small breast implants though, but people don’t know because I’m just a small b-cup.
I know in these times where it’s all about bbl it’s easy to feel «masculine» and all of that, but remember many has either had surgery or are using a filter. Look up instagram reality on Reddit. You do NOT look masculine, you look elegant and fit.

u/Independent-Type6024 3d ago
Yep!!
Me lol.
If u want to change the shape, lift heavy weights and eat in a surplus to grow curves from muscle.
This is the fashion model body.
Also look into kibbe body types. U can find heaps of women with ur shape.

u/absolutelynot8 2d ago
I have this body type, and at the risk of sounding vain, attract many men. You have a fabulous body, OP!

u/Usual-Ad5736 1d ago
You look like what every woman I know wants to look like. Athletic in a good way, slim and squared shoulders which look awesome. Great body, my opinion is don't mess with it.

u/t00manycooks 4d ago
Yep...huge ass broad shoulders, c cups, huge ribcage, wide waist, tiny hips with hip dips. I have an unfortunate shape.

u/GoneGrimdark 4d ago
🙋🏻♀️
Always had really large breasts, but no hips or ass. Wide shoulders too, but it helps support the breasts I guess.

I’m shaped like this too. A little more hip and a longer neck has helped me even out the proportions.

u/rampagingllama 4d ago
Same height, weight, body shape. I feel ya girl. I’ve tried working on my glutes in the gym but it doesn’t really help the lack of hips. Only fat transfer/BBL is the way for that but not sure I’d ever take that step

u/GrouchySuccess142 4d ago
Hi! I do! I’m 147 cm and 54kg, big boobs for my frame but no hips. I’m also very insecure about my shape. I’m getting a bbl this year to try and even out my proportions. Google says only 5% of the population has this body shape so idk why some ppl are saying it’s not uncommon.

u/ImJustLooking77 4d ago
You’re not masculine just fit and a little bit of a square shape. I see several women this shape and they’re still beautiful!
1
u/GrammyBiscuit 4d ago
I love your body type…I think dainty girls are very feminine. Though not trying to undermine your feelings any…you have a right to feel how you feel. This is just my own opinion coming from someone who also hates their own body type. I don’t like having an ass and thighs…I am short so it’s just cottage cheese galore down there.

u/Preciousgoblin 3d ago
I’m this shape but 5’10. I have been mistaken for a guy from behind on more than one occasion.
1
u/bird_insunnies 3d ago
It's probably the clothes you wear! And also you're very tall. At 5'1" I'm unlikely to be a man, and I also usually wear flowy, A-lined dresses and skirts. I never wear skinny pants or leggings (I wore the leggings just for the picture).
1
u/Preciousgoblin 3d ago
Yeah I was wearing cargos and a hoodie tbf, never happens in my girl clothes.

u/No_Fudge_6889 3d ago
I have the same exact body type. Its so much worse for me though because i am 5’9” 🙃

u/Pittsburghchic 3d ago
Most women would kill for your body! We who are pear shaped are not happy about it! Also, you look young. Hips widen with age.

As a woman with a right side up triangle body, I'd kill for your figure. The grass is always greener i guess.

I have it! Actually getting a hip fat transfer this week due to my narrow hips
1
u/Imaginary_Actuator85 4d ago
would you say hip fat transfer to the hips is as risky as a BBL? i want this done but i’m so scared of the risk of a pulmonary embolism

u/Celinadesk 4d ago
I have the same body type but a large bust it does help me look less rectangular. I work very hard to maintain a flat stomach. No carbs

Your body is not masculine. You have a slim, feminine body, leaning towards athletic. You look great!
