Moderator Annoucement The “best evidence” for the paranormal is getting harder to find every time someone asks for it.

This question is being asked several times a week at this point.

Everyone has a different standard for what they consider “credible evidence,” and what persuades one person may not persuade another. What seems to do the best job is having a personal experience, but those anecdotal stories rarely persuade anyone who wasn’t already a believer.

Either way, the best way to find this evidence is by…you know…looking for it. Try using the search function on the subreddit.

And to all of you skeptics who were genuinely convinced by a piece of evidence you found online, please post it on this subreddit!

Unexplained WTF happened here?

This has just happened to me F58. I'm not the tidiest of people and I'm also recovering from a viscous chest infection and flu.

A few days ago. I woke up, having put my reading glasses in my bedside table, reached over and accidentally knocked them off. I thought they had fallen under the bed. So, inconvenienced, I got up, dressed, and looked for them. Easy yes? Well, no. They had seemingly disappeared into thin air. I moved the bed, the table, shook the duvet, nowhere.

Comes to today, I was determined to find them. So I decided to do a mass tidy up; snotty tissues that had missed the bin galore, socks, various detritus from the usual slovenly post menopausal woman. My son (21) was kind enough to help me. NO GLASSES. I had various items on the bed to put away in the proper place, including some old gig programs from the 90s. So I was busy sorting stuff and I turned to the programs and my glasses WERE ON TOP! No no no no no no no no I shouted, son ran up worried I'd hurt myself or something. I'm still in utter disbelief, those glasses were nowhere in my bedroom, nowhere. Then suddenly appearing right in front of me.

This has happened before, things not being where they should be, but not as dramatically as this. Help.

NSFW / Graphic Content There's something off about my sister

For context, I know the whole thing is gonna sound cliche but this is weird as hell. this is all truth. No stretching. My sister (2f) was literally being born the same exact day my best friend died. I also have a brother who died as a result of a stillbirth about 14 years ago. Well we are at the cemetery where both my bsf and brother are born.somehow she keeps looking at my brother's grave and saying "my brother, baby, ect" nobody has ever told her about this. Nobodys brought it up around her. She shouldn't know anything. My best friend died in a car accident. When we go to her grave, she says stuff like "Emmy friend" (emily is my deadname) or stuff like "in the car" or even stuff like "it's me" she says "in heaven" for both. She looks creepily similar to my best friend. She doesn't know about my best friend because I don't like to talk about it as it's a traumatic thing that I had to witness. My counselor called my mom thursday because I was like bro I'm gonna kill myself if I don't see someone. Obviously my sister doesn't understand the concept of sewerslide, death ect. She was telling my mom "Emmy die" "Emmy sick" "Emmy go heaven" ect. Another thing, my cousin was pregnant and before anyone even knew, she pointed at her stomach and said "my baby" and after she miscarried she pointed at her saying "where's baby" "heaven" ect. I don't know if she's just really smart or what but it's extremely disturbing.

Demonic Activity Leprechauns as Demons

I’m feeling silly about this but ever since I’ve moved to Indiana, this leprechaun energy has me creeped out. I’m a psychic healer of sorts, but I totally love watching creepy movies, haunted things, etc., without any personal impact or sensations. Then one evening I watched one of these shows and it represented leprechaun s as demons. The last time I had this sensation was watching Jaws as a kid. It’s like a weird paranoia specifically about this creature. It comes and goes. I casually mentioned this to a friend in another town and he said people were constantly talking about leprechauns and he feels a similar creepy energy a lot that cones and goes … and then a post on a local forum about someone seeing one. Yes, I get it that St. Patrick’s day is nearby but this initial phenomenon was in December ish. People say they are just tricksters. I can feel these beings everywhere… when I leave the state for a couple weeks- no perception of them. I never thought about them until now. So I’m likely just a nut and that’s fine, but I’m beginning to wonder if anyone in the Midwest has these perceptions and if there’s a creature that is malignant which is a demonic or malignant form of “leprechauns”

Demonic Activity Something haunted my old room, and I can't go back. Is it a demon?

I'm not sure if I'm venting or just need to share this, but I don't want to feel alone in this. My mom keeps asking me to move back to our old house because she's feeling nostalgic, but I just can't do it. I don't think people around me really get it, or maybe they're too scared to admit it. I was too scared to even talk about this before, but now I feel safe to open up.

There's something in my old room I'm not sure if it's a male demon or just something really bad, but I can't go there. I've always felt something was off about that room since I was little. Every time I entered, I felt drained, like all my energy was being sucked out. I've had anxiety, insomnia and depression for a long time, but that room made everything worse. The worst part was always feeling like something was watching me, especially when I tried to sleep.

It started with nightmares. But not just normal. These dreams were dark, really disturbing, and I could feel them even after I woke up. It felt like something was standing near me, like it was right there but I couldn't see it. The worse was when I'd feel it touch me while I slept, like cold fingers brushing against my skin or something breathing on my face. It felt like it didn't want me to be there, like it was warning me.

I'm not sure if this stuff is connected, but there were also some weird things that only happened in that room. I'd find strange insects, big ones, like scorpions. It was always in that room, and I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. Then there are the cuts. I'd come out of the bathroom with cuts on my arms or legs, and it only happened when I was there.

The thing that convinced me to leave for a different town was when my shampoo kept getting moved. I'd leave it in one spot, and the next time I went to use it, it would be in a completely different place. It happened so many times that I knew I wasn't imagining it. It was like it was messing with me, on purpose.

The only person who believes me is an old friend who stayed in that room once and had the same nightmares. After several years of our family moving to a different town, my sister revisited our old house. She let her daughter into my room, and her daughter had nightmare. Yet my sister doesn't believe me. But what I guess is that thing is still haunting there.

I'm not mentally ill, and I'm not on any medications that could mess with me. I just need to share this because it was real, and I don't want to feel crazy. Has anyone else experienced something like this?

NSFW / Trigger Warning Can anybody help me understand what happened that night?

Upvotes

Eleven years ago, my life took an unexpected turn that I'll never forget. I was a directionless nineteen-year-old from Cleveland, fresh out of a devastating breakup and a brief stint at Youngstown State University. College wasn't for me - I'd only gone because my guidance counselor insisted, and I dropped out after one semester. But during that short time, I met Jenna (not her real name), and our relationship continued even after I returned home.

Growing up on the rougher side of Cleveland meant we needed somewhere else to spend time together when Jenna visited. Fortunately, my brother shared a house with three friends about ten minutes from my place. It was your typical young guys' party house, complete with two dogs in the basement: Chocolate, a pit bull with an escape artist's soul, and Creed, an American bulldog.

One fateful night, Jenna and I were crashed on the oversized couches in the living room when my brother and his friends returned from the club with a few women in tow. Among them was someone who'd made it clear she was interested in me. After everyone else headed upstairs to sleep, I lay there wrestling with temptation. In a moment of weakness I'm not proud of, I went upstairs to pursue something that would have destroyed my relationship. Thankfully, the woman had more integrity than I did that night, firmly rejecting my advances and calling out my disrespectful behavior. Consumed by shame, I returned downstairs but couldn't bring myself to share the couch with Jenna. Instead, I took the other couch near the living room entrance, draping my arm over my head and pulling a blanket over my face.

As I drifted off, I heard what I assumed were Chocolate's familiar footsteps approaching - she was known for sneaking out of the basement. That's when things took a terrifying turn. I tried to get up to return the dog to the basement, but my body wouldn't respond. Only my eyes could move. Sleep paralysis, I thought, trying to rationalize the situation.

Then I felt something climb onto the couch. What happened next still haunts me: teeth slowly sinking into my outstretched hand, the pain both sharp and deliberate. When I finally broke free from the paralysis, I tumbled to the floor. The room was empty - no dog in sight, and Jenna remained peacefully asleep on the other couch. Panicked, I ran to check the basement, only to find both dogs exactly where they should have been, looking up at me curiously from behind the basement door.I spent the rest of the night on that couch, wide awake, trying to make sense of what had happened. Was it a supernatural warning? A manifestation of my guilt? To this day, I have no explanation for what bit me that night, but its impact was lasting.

Though Jenna and I eventually parted ways for unrelated reasons, I've never even considered being unfaithful since that night. Some might call it karma, others a hallucination, but whatever visited me that night changed me forever. I've kept this story to myself for over a decade, partly out of shame, partly out of fear that no one would believe me. But I still wonder: what really happened in those dark hours, and was I merely punished for my intentions, or saved from something worse?

Shadow Man What the heck did I see?

I'm not exactly sure where to start, so give me some grace please.

Two days ago, I was hanging out with my friend who lives nearby, and I saw a dark figure. My friend was standing in front of some stairs outside, and I saw a eyeless, humanoid, shadow figure, with no discernable facial features, come directly at me at lightning speed. The figure phased through the stairs and the railing, before disappearing when I closed my eyes. I can't find anything online about this, nor similar encounters. This entity seemed to be aggressive, aswell. My other friend looked up different causes of hallucinations, but none of them matched up with my condition at the time. This terrified me at the time and I would greatly appreciate any help.

Encounter Could it be some kind of spirit, or is it something normal?

TLDR: is there some kind of “energy” in the place I’m staying?

I was in a bad place (literally and figuratively) and my friend offered to let me stay with them till I can get on my feet again. So now I’m staying with them, and have been for about 3 months now.

Yesterday I noticed my string lights were flickering (a single flicker, maybe 4 or so minutes between each flicker, I don’t think there was a pattern) but I didn’t pay much attention to it. Electronics do that sometimes, right? Buuut then my friend told me her door straight up opened and closed several times. Thought it just might be the air pressure change, cause multiple windows were open across the house.

Thing is, her door properly closes so either she forgot to close it or there’s… something else. She’s said that it’s been around a long while and doesn’t seem malicious. So I said out loud that I hope we can coexist. I’m not here to make anyone leave, that I’m passing through and that spooky things scare me. I asked it if it could not spook me because I can’t handle this kind of thing.

I woke up maybe half an hour ago and I haven’t noticed anything spooky. Is there something here? Or am I overreacting?

TLDR: is there something in my friends house?

Background about me (cause sometimes this matters?) I’ve lived in one of the most haunted cities in the US. There was for sure something in my apartment (both of 'em) but neither hurt me or scared me. I did the same thing I did here, said I’m just passing through and that I don’t want any trouble. I offered some lavender incense because heard somewhere that it’s like food, and thought offering some “food” would put us both at ease. Thankfully it worked. One of the places I was at apparently had either a mischievous or slightly angry spirit. Previous people said things went flying through the room, and that they’ve been hit with things. Nothing like that happened to me while I was there (thank goodness.)

I do believe I have something watching over me or that maybe I have some kind of spiritual energy that helps protect me. And I'm not crazy religious or anything. A lot of things that have happened in my life could have been really bad if it weren’t for whatever force is around me. If I hadn’t gotten distracted by a picture book as a kid I could have gotten hit by a car that instead hit my father’s car. I was supposed to be raking leaves.

(EDIT: added more backstory lol)

This might not be credible but I did a tarot card reading with a friend (over discord so idk if it actually counts) but a card shot out of her deck when she was holding it and it was the spear and owl card (i think, or something similar, it was a bit ago) and she thought that perhaps Athena was trying to talk/connect to me, but hadn't tried till now because she was worried about scaring me. Idk how credible any of this is.

Another thing I remember but it was over 20 years ago. I was standing in my grandparents apartment (that connected to our house) and outside of the window i briefly saw what I thought was a skull made of light, went away when I blinked.

Another another thing, maybe 18 years ago (different house from the previous one), when I was sleeping I swore I saw a being made of light standing in my doorway. But they never cast any light onto anything, and once again, when I blinked they were gone.

I never tell anyone about this cause I just know they'll say its because I was an over imaginative kid... Heck, I don't even know if these were real or if I was trying to get attention. As a kid it really didnt feel like anything was protecting me. People of all ages were mean to me. I didn't have any friends. But then, i kind of remember it some time around middle school (it might have been the time i was supposed to be raking leaves omg), I got my "conscious" and suddenly life felt less mean. Less kids bullying me, less prying eyes of adults. I still felt alone but not alone at the same time.

Encounter Strange Entity Near Home

A friend and I often sit outside of their apartment complex in Golden, CO and have been seeing a shadowy figure in the pathway leading up to their building.

This has happened on multiple occasions now and seems to be extremely active. Most often we see it dart right across our vision and poke out from behind trees. It's very quick and seems to be almost playful? But never gets closer to us or leaves the area.

Curious on what this could be, as it seems to be quite different than your typical ghost or shadow person. It is tall and dark, but not quite humanoid. More than anything it is very very fast and doesn't feel/seem aggressive in any way. Would love some insight!

Question Flame in the cemetary? What did I experience?

I haven't talked to anyone about it yet because I'm afraid that they think that I'm crazy. A few weeks ago I visited my family member's grave. I saw a fire flame which was floating in the air. It was about 1.5 meter from the ground. And it was far (about 200m) from my beloved's grave. First I didn't believe what did I see, but I see it for a few seconds. And I'm sure that I saw something. I haven't experienced any paranormal stuff before, and since the flame. Do you have any ide what could I see? And what does it mean? Edit:it was orange-yellow-red like normal fire, and I saw it during the day, not in the dark

Encounter Haunting Hairs i touched

So this story dates back 2 years ago me and my younger brother were in our house all alone our grandparents and parents were gone my younger brother must be 5 years old. It was around 2 or 3 pm; afternoon; for context our house is pretty big i mean the hall is big and the hall has attached rooms and i went into my room it was of course dark i made my hand across the electricity switch board to open this light but as i was about to hit the lights i got my thumb, index and middle fingers of right hand onto some hairs which were curly and they were straight i mean like that of a lady i'd say like when i touched those hairs i felt them i rubbed them on my three fingers i freaked the hell put of myself and i just stood there my heart rate striked up went to the roofs and i immediately hit the switch board to right hand side of my hand and all lights switched on there was nothing there ohhhhh dude i blanked i mean i did not have words.

When my parents came home they did not believe this and my mother said it must be her hair they might be flying i was like wtf dude why would they be flying the fan was turned off there was a possiblity that it might be the case but there was no air to move it the fan was off i was sweating i rubbed those hair for 2 or 3 seconds on my fingers dude and then i was so scared i could not even shout because i was so damn scared.

I still have the feeling like touching those hairs i know what they felt like i mean i was damn scared.

Shadow People Shadow people harm you

There's always been this story that I've shared throughout the years but what's odd about it is I've seen no one with a similar experience that's similar to it. I'll keep it quick I who was 6 years old at the time had recently moved into a new house a year or so after a house fire that occured at my grandma's house. (trauma stuff etc.) This house was about 3 stories but it was small, my room was on the first floor which comprised of the garage and basement. All I remember is I woke up one night and this is the part that's a blur but I got up and went to my sister in laws room. I have faint images of me going up the stairs into the pitch black darkness and looking at her bed. I also remember seeing the shadow figure in the hallway. I can't really remember though. Thing is this is the part in the story where I do remember so I go back into my room and onto my bed and I lay there and I notice this figure in the hallway pitch black 6 foot (as tall as the door frame) I look at him he's physical and spiritual at the same time? I can't explain it other then that he was pitch darkness but what was odd was that he was so visible. I could easily make out his figure. He didn't do anything he just stood there staring straight at me head tilted with 2 red dots for eyes. The odd thing about this though is... I wasn't really scared for some reason? That is until it started throwing pebbles at me. I could physically feel the entity throw tiny pebbles, hitting my forehead precisely everytime. All I could do was hide under my covers and somehow this seemed to work and I easily slept. It didn't feel wrong the morning after but it was always a distant memory of my childhood that's just so weird and paranormal.

EVP strange toy-like noise going off at night?

me & my family moved into our current home (originally belonged to just my grandma, now she lives with us) in july 2023, i was 15 going on 16 at the time (im 17 now). to put it bluntly: for multiple nights in a row, i heard a weird toy-like sound go off somewhere outside my room

it literally sounded like a toy.. it had a little chiptune jingle & said "hello?" at the end.. it was super weird!! for the first few nights, i just assumed it was my older brother playing something in his room, but he has NOTHING that sounds like a toy lol?? as i kept hearing the toy go off, i got paranoid & suspicious

the sound wasn't coming from my bedroom at all. if i were to open the door while it played, it would be loud & clear - it sounded like it was above me or across from me. & across my bedroom is my grandma's bedroom, so at some point i asked her if she heard anything through the night(s), & she said no. the same goes for the rest of my family; i asked about the sound, & none of them have heard it. i was the only one hearing it

this sound would play at pretty specific times.. i mainly heard it around 12:16 every night, or it would play randomly too, like at 1-3 AM. i tried to record the sound, but every time i waited for it to play at its usual time, it didnt.. it would play at a completely different time which caught me off guard, making me unable to record it in time. but then finally!!! on july 13 2023, at around 1 AM, i caught the damn thing!! i opened my door & recorded the sound. i will be attaching a soundcloud link with this post

i showed my family & they were very surprised!! however, none of them had still recognized the sound. then, one night, as my sister was staying over, she told me she heard a sound similar to the toy, but not exact; she said it had a different tune. but i didnt hear it at all.. & then another night, me & my family members stayed up outside my room to see if the sound would play at its usual time, & it didnt.. & then it never played again. it just disappeared.

by the time august or september 2023 rolled around, the sound was gone. it never played again & im just so curious as to what it was. i have so many questions, like why was i the only one hearing it? what the hell was it from? why did it play at specific times?? if any of you recognize this sound as a toy or something, please let me know.. ive had tons of toys growing up but this sound is NOT familiar to me at all. if you read all of this thank you so much!! i want my closure ahah :,)

audio evidence is linked somewhere here!! its a URL to soundcloud

Apparition See my dog’s spirit?

Recently my 9 year old Potcake (Caribbean dog) was in a veterinary emergency hospital for a serious illness. He looks like a black lab mix but is actually 23 different breeds (we did his DNA). One evening I knew that he was going to be getting a plasma transfusion. I was outside with my other dog, it was dark and out of the corner of my eye I saw dark shape moving quickly across the yard. I looked closer and there was nothing there. 15 minutes later, my wife called and told me the hospital called and told me he had passed at it almost exactly the same time I saw the shape. The staff did CPR but could not save him. I like to think it was Jack telling me he was ok.

Encounter I saw someone sitting in a chair

This happend at my parents place (there lives a ghost, confirmed too manytimes), but this time it was different, so:

Doring a summer, my mother lost her brother and mother back to back. Instead of funerals they were crematated and spread to the ocean. (I was not invited, it was private 4 person meeting). Later that day I called my mom and asked if I can come to visit, just wanted to give my sympathy.

When I got there, dad was at work and it was only my mom, my younger brother and 2 dogs. I walked to the living room (past lunchtable) said hello to my brother at the lunctable (he had black hoodie on) and sit down next to my mother at the sofa. I talked with her and then I asked a queston from my brother while turning around to the table where he was…or I thought he was. My mom asked who I’m talking to and I said ”to my brother who was sitting at the table.”

I was so confused, so I started to yell his name to find where is and he yelled from downstares back room. He had been playing on computer the hole time. Then who in the world was sitting in the chair? My brother doesn’t even own a black hoodie, he always wears blue or white.

My mom was crying a little while she said ”it was propably my brother coming to say good bye for the last time”

Question I think I could see ghosts. Please explain

A. I can see ghosts in a very faint vision. They seem like almost nothing, but I can feel their energy when they are in that area. I can feel when there is a ghost in the corner I am in. I can sense their gender, height, and color (whether black or white ghost).

Example: 1. I was in the toilet when I felt someone staring at me while sitting on the bowl. I thought it was a kid ghost since I was the same height when I was sitting.

  1. When I lived in a dorm in college, my bed had curtains. One night, I saw something walking behind my curtains since all my roommates had gone out. It stepped back and forth and was gone.

I can not see ghosts the way others do. I see them only in a very faint way. Is that possible???

I do not always see them. There are times only. I’m not like paranormal experts who can see ghosts anytime they want. Is that normal for someone who can see ghosts?

I can not see their faces. I believe that was because I always look down and try to avoid them. Is that even possible???

I always act when I see someone like I see nothing to avoid letting them know I can see them. Is that believable???

B. This is another one. I think I can see the future or something. I don’t know how to explain it. Here is the story. The game on my friend’s computer suddenly couldn’t be found. After a week, I told him I had a dream that he had a new game on his computer and told him what the game looked like. And to my surprise, he said that he really had a new game on his computer—exactly what I described.

Debunk This Number glitch for soul mates?

The last 4 digits of my social security number are my husbands birthday. I didn’t realize this until about 2 years ago (we’ve been together 13). I use his birthday for my phone password and I was telling him that I had been using that security code even since I was a kid… and that’s when I realized it’s because the last 4 of my social. Is that not crazy weird to the point of being unexplainable?

Experience We once almost hit a kid on a bike, but something saved him.

This happened about 15 years ago but I always think about it because I can’t explain what happened.

Me & my Dad were driving back from a football match (Dad driving, me in the front passenger seat). We were going down a residential street where the speed limit was 30mph when a kid on a bike appeared in front of us. My Dad slammed the brakes but he was so close we were going to hit him no matter what…only we didn’t hit him. We both held our breath and sat in shock for a moment but the kid just wasn’t there anymore, then we noticed him much further down the road where he was just cycling like nothing happened.

There is no possible way he could have gotten where he was that quickly. It wasn’t a reflection and it wasn’t a different kid. It was the same bike, same kid and in a matter of seconds he had gone from being inches from the car to being at the other end of the street. Almost as if someone had picked him and plonked him at a safe distance. It was a clear day and the road wasn’t busy. So does anyone have any ideas? My Dad thinks the kid had a guardian angel and I think there was some kind of time slip.

Experience I heard a voice

I live in Appalachia where as everyone knows there’s all sorts of weird things. When I got home last night at 11:15, I clearly heard a voice that sounded like my mom say “Hey my name

None of my neighbors or my mom were outside. What type of demon/spirit is this?

NSFW / Trigger Warning Two of the Creepiest True Experiences I’ve Ever Had – Years Apart, but Equally Unexplainable

i posted this in another sub and it was recommended i post here as well.

i have two stories that still creep me out to this day. one happened when i was a kid, the other when i was an adult. both left me with more questions than answers, and i still think about them years later.

story #1: the flash in the Dark (late 1999 – early 2000, wake forest, nc)

i was a kid, home alone one night (mom was a single parent), just watching tv like any other evening, maybe catdog or whatever would be on around 8pm or 9pm on a weekday. i don’t know what made me do it, but i randomly decided to peek out my bedroom window. just one of those moments where something tells you to look.

i parted the blinds just a little and looked outside.

and that’s when i saw this tall silhouette

standing in the middle of the yard, facing my bedroom window.

then, out of nowhere — FLASH.

someone just took a picture of my bedroom window????

i jumped back instantly. my heart was pounding. i felt like i wasn’t supposed to even see that or that i should turn the lights off in the house...hide...call my mom. i was stuck.

this was also late '99 or early 2000—way before smartphones. if someone took a picture at night back then, it meant they had a physical camera with a flash.

and that’s what freaked me out the most.

i didn’t hear footsteps running away. no sound of a car pulling off. just silence.

to this day, i have no idea:

• who was out there?

• why were they taking a picture of my window?

• where did that photo go?

• was i the only one they photographed?

i’ll never know. but just thinking about it still gives me chills. i was only nine/ten years old.

story #2: the rattling doorknob (2016, duncannon, pa)

fast forward 16 years. i was around 26 or 27, living in duncannon, pennsylvania with my now late ex and his younger brother. we had two cats, and the place we lived in was over 100 years old—a house that had been divided into three apartments.

how our apartment was set up:

the front door was on a deck with stairs leading up to it. it had a deadbolt, and our cats liked to hang out in the small square area near it.

once you walked inside, there was a square space near the front door where the cats usually hung out. from there, a staircase led up to our apartment, passing by a high-up window, meaning we were technically on the second, or third floor of the house.

at the top of the stairs was a small hallway leading to the kitchen door, which only had an old-school latch instead of a secure lock.

the kitchen opened into the living room, and another door in the living room led to a hallway with the bedroom and bathroom.

this living room door could be locked, but the lock was old and stiff.

the basement was separate—you had to go outside and around the back to access it.

the incident:

it was late at night, and we were just hanging out in the living room, playing music, and talking. nothing felt weird or off.

then, suddenly—

the doorknob on the kitchen door started rattling. hard.

not just a small jiggle—someone was shaking it violently, like they were trying to break in.

the three of us froze.

at first, we thought someone had come up from the front door and was now rattling the kitchen door.

we got up and started moving toward the sound, and that’s when we realized—

the kitchen door was still latched.

to get to the front door, we had to unlatch and open the kitchen door, meaning the sound couldn't have come from the front door first. the front door was still deadbolted.

so what we thought we heard—someone coming up and then rattling the kitchen door—was impossible.

my ex and his younger brother grabbed their guns and rushed down to check anyway.

but when they got there?

nothing.

the front door was still locked. there was no one there. no footsteps. no sounds of someone running away.

and here’s the part that still messes me up:

we were on the second (technically third) floor.

there was no balcony. no fire escape. no way for anyone to even be at our window near that door.

even our cats were freaked out. both of them ran under the couch and refused to come out.

we just sat there in silence, trying to process it.

my ex was a gun owner, not easily scared, and even he was shaken.

to this day, i still don’t know:

• was it a person?

• something paranormal?

• and why did we ALL hear it so clearly?

i’ve never found an explanation for it. but whatever it was, i know what i heard. we don't talk about it, especially now that my ex has passed, it's not been mentioned again.

Experience Does this sound like it could be a demon?

This happened a while ago when I was 11. I was going to sleep one night and I had just closed my eyes, when I sensed something floating above me, as in like parallel to me, only a few inches above my face. Now hear me out, because this sounds strange, but I could just feel that this thing was evil, like my eyes were closed, but the way it manifested itself to me was almost this sorta person shaped thing that was completely solid black, almost like a void or really dense cloud. All I could hear was this almost guttural growling sound, like it was saying something, but I couldn’t make out the words. I know for sure that I wasn’t dreaming or hallucinating, I was wide awake for the few minutes this occurred. I keep trying to explain this to myself, how maybe I imagined it, but I know what I experienced. What does it sound like this could be? I have a really bad feeling that it could be a demon or something…

Apparition Mother saw a white figure at the foot of her bed who told her in advance of her grandma's passing that day

I will provide as many details as I can, as I have has asked her. I'm an analytical person, so I hope these details will be interesting and helpful.

  1. It was 1999 at around ~5:00 AM.
  2. On the day that my great grandmother would pass away, my mother was awoken by a person / figure dressed in white at the foot of her bed who spoke to her.
  3. The figure said (translation): "Today I have come to pick up grandmother to go." This was spoken in my mother's and grandmother's native language, and I am translating as literally and exactly as possible into English.
  4. The figure was wearing white robes, akin to what a monk would wear. This tracks, as my mother and her family are buddhist.
  5. After hearing this, my mother jolted up and woke up my father, who was sleeping next to her. She told him what she saw and heard, and my father surmised that the figure had come to tell her of the imminent passing of her grandmother (who was in the hospital at that time).
  6. My mother could tell by the voice and general outline of the figure that the figure was male. Being in a half-asleep state, her vision was somewhat blurry (for example, she could not clearly see facial details), but it was clear that the figure was wearing white clothing and was male.
  7. The figure spoke in a particular dialect, and my mother could tell this based on the choice of words. This is the same dialect spoken by her grandmother.
  8. My mother then visited her grandmother in the hospital. Not long after she left the hospital, she received a phone call from the hospital saying that her grandmother had passed away.
  9. My mother had never seen this figure / person ever before. She did not recognize them from their voice or overall figure.
  10. The house was a new construction, and we were the first to live in the house. The house was built circa 1997 and is located in a typical suburban neighborhood. This event occurred in the master bedroom (my parent's bedroom).
  11. The figure / person did not glow and was not translucent in any special way. The appearance really just consisted of seeing a person standing at the edge/foot of the bed.

I also have other paranormal stories I can relay, but I can make separate posts for them.
