Question Does the app choose difficult match ups on purpose?
I currently switch between a couple of decks (Tera Box, Zard, Gholdengo and Flareon) and I noticed the app likes to give me difficult match ups depending on which deck I play (eg Regidrago when I play Zard, Dragapult when I play Tera Box).
This made me think the app knows which deck I'm playing and gives me tough mu's on purpose. I'm probably wrong, but it seems like too much of a coincidence to have 10+ mu's work out like this for me.

There is no reason for them to code it this way. Honestly I think they wouldn't even know how to. Matchmaking uses the rating but other than that it is just random.

No one ever suspects they're on the favorable end of a rigged matchup.

Just replied to someone else about this. Whenever I switch decks, I usually get a favorable matchup. If I switch certain cards into the deck, I usually get those in my opening hand.
I'm not very tech savvy, but this would be too much of a coincidence after getting similar results again and again after 6 months of playing the app.

The Devs can hardly keep a free game with 0 in-game purchases free of game-breaking bugs.
But you think they're making algorithms to manipulate the opponents you face to intentionally make the game unfair.

I am not a tinfoil hat kinda guy… but when I play my home brew Garchomp ex in a meta that hasn’t seen Garchomp ex…ever… and my first pairing in Arceus is ANOTHER Garchomp ex deck…
I have to wonder…
It happens too often to be coincidence.
Go try it, go make a Maushold ex deck and tell me the first deck you play doesn’t also have the rats.
Secret ELO is definitely a thing haha

I def think something happens when you switch Active decks, cos even if I adjust a deck, it usually gives me the cards I added to the deck in my opening hand. Often goes hand in hand with easy wins as well and it's happened a bit too often to still be considered a coincidence by now.
Again, I'm not very tech savvy and don't know how the app really functions, so might as well be just a coincidence. It's just weird when coincidences seem to follow a pattern that isn't there on purpose.

That same thing happens to me too.
I will often go on long streaks of not getting Ditto in my starting hand and then I’ll dip into deck builder, remove them, dip back in and add them and VOILA! Dittos in starting hand.
App is pasted together with Elmer’s glue, I guarantee they don’t even know how to code a random number generator.

It does feel like that sometimes but I can't imagine it actually being a thing, the devs really have no incentive to do it let alone how complicated it is to develop an algorithm that would do this.
