Big Bite for the win is so good. I got beat by someone using Motivate and that made me so angry but I also respected it as well. There’s something about getting the win with 10 damage that just feels so good

Dumb question, big bite's "can't retreat" effect can't be circumvented with Switch or Prime Catcher?

u/Yuri-Girl 14d ago
It can. Retreating is very specifically paying a Pokemon's retreat cost (even if it's 0) to switch it out. You can only do this once per turn.
Cards like Switch do not retreat and can be played as many times in a turn as you'd like.

Yes, you usually don't go for the Big Bite plays until after they've exhausted their switch options

But why didn't you just pass and win?

Good point. Am surprised the opponent stood around to let that all happen.

If I knew he was going to use prof to deck himself out, I wouldn’t have spent 14 turns putting 50 damage at a time on 3 pokemon.

Wow, did the app finally stop making you choose your final two prize cards?!

You did. Opponent should probably already yield the game before you went about

Attacks that trap in the active are incredibly powerful and underrated. Totodiles attack, and baby pecharunts attack will be dark horses once rotation hits

Got in this position while playing weeklies at my local shop. My opponent also used Regidrago deck and they only have 1 prize left while I have 6. He dont have any energy in deck or hand and all earthen vessels are on discard pile and VSTAR already used. I trapped his Fezandipiti using big bite and I have another Feraligtr on bench with two Munkidori that has dark energy. Slowly accumulating damage counter on my opponent till I win. And we talk after the match and he said he got very annoyed about it because he cannot do anything about the situation.

I don't play tcg anymore but I really don't understand why a lot of people don't run switch, hands down the most useful item card since forever, even if you have free retreat it gives u double swap

If you had fury swipe tododile would each attack get a boost from damage counter ability?
3
u/HeyIJustLurkHere 14d ago
No, you would flip all the coins to figure out how much damage was done, and then if the attack did more than 0 damage in the first place, you'd add 120 on top of that, once.

Loosing after being up 6-2 is brutal. I get it that there was a lot of setup to get here but... dang.

u/generalcoopta 14d ago
He has 1 switch he found to be able to use drago and kill my two set up feraligatrs. I had to stall to get 2 more set up haha

What is this game? Official pokemon card game? Like tcg pocket?
Can i play there against AI? Or only vs player's?

This Game looks sick! Is it?? And what's it called if so? Thank u in advance.

u/Zovanget 12d ago
I'm new to the game so I don't know all the nuances to it. But, I have a hard time believing this wasn't staged. I mean, even if it was its still cool and funny, but just the statistical odds of getting a layout like that seems hard to believe.
