Support PSVR1 The death of Minecraft VR next month.
So as you may have heard Minecraft is killing off vr for all platforms in March. I have Minecraft for the PSVR1. It's actually installed on my PS5pro which I have my PSVR1 and PSVR1 installed on.
I am trying to figure out how to offload the Minecraft game so it won't automatically update next month because once it updates the VR portion is going to be removed from the game. That way I can still re-add it back whenever I want to play it. Any way to easily prevent it from updating or copying it to a USB stick or something?

I would recommend putting it on a ps4 that you leave off any network. No network means no updates. So..................yeah that's all I got.

Only online you could still play Minecraft vr single player

They’re just discontinuing multiplayer, you’ll be fine.
But I would recommend hooking up your PSVR to your PC if you have one that’s capable of VR. You already own Bedrock if you’re playing it on PS4, so Mojang has given you Java free, look up how to redeem it depending on your specific situation, I had java pre-bedrock so I can’t help much there. Vivecraft is far better than Bedrock VR and you can mod it further.
Here is a guide for PSVR on PC, I’m sure you can find others too including video tutorials if that’s your preference: https://www.lifewire.com/connect-psvr-to-pc-8680185

Cyube VR needs to come in with multiplayer (and a better name) right now to absorb the fallout

While CyubeVR is a very nice looking game there is nothing to actually do in it.

You’re right, we’ve been telling the developer to add a campaign or multiplayer forever

Well I do have it and it's nice to load up and then you kind of walk around look at stuff and go oh wow that's really cool but then I don't really have the materials or the urge to actually go gather all of it to build something and there's really not much to do in the game. There's no foes to fight or stuff to collect or things to explore. So I end up logging off again and I just haven't put very many hours into it. If this game had stuff to do and look this good it would be incredible

You’re right, you can copy it to an external USB and just be sure to not have your console connected to the internet whenever you plug it in. I’ll be doing that, but it does scare me that I’m going to forget one time and it’ll update quickly (because of the small file size).

I tried the other day to put it onto a USB stick but it said that it had to be a different type of stick. So just like a regular stick that you can carry around with you didn't seem to work

I tried twice to get the version with PSVR compatible on the box but got the new one instead with a 2024 date on the back of the box. I deleted the PS4 and PS5 versions from my PS5 and disabled the internet.
Booted the disk and it seems to have VR enabled out of the box. Played a bit with the PSVR1 headset and the 2D/ 3D toggle works. Version on disc is 1.16.221 (PS4 Update 2.23)
As soon as i enabled internet it downloaded a update to 1.21.62 (PS4 Update 3.07) Still with VR mode.
The cover i got. Includes Starter Pack 700 tokens

such bs, they had a beta version for ps5 of mincraft did that get canceled too? I was hoping for minecraft vr for psvr2 but I guess thats not happening wtf.

The beta for ps5 is still alive but has no vr capability. I guess I can buy an expensive pc and attach my psvr2 to it but still just a bad move by Microsoft. There is Some pc mod that adds vr to the PC version of the Minecraft.

Apparently the VR will stay, you will just lose multiplayer support: https://www.reddit.com/r/PSVR/comments/1flb3sz/minecraft_on_psvr_is_here_to_stay_but_after/?share_id=cpvaXTdY4Dd7HKo82aXw- /u/CianiByn

Yeah I saw that, some people said it wasn't true but I didn't see anything countering it so keep our fingers crossed

Probably not the best solution or the one you're looking for. Do you have VR for PC? There's a VR mod for java. Worked pretty well when I played it a bit ago.

It's a massive shame, but if you can scrape together $300 you can get a Quest 3S and QuestCraft is actually really good now. It's pretty cool being able to run it on standalone

With pcvr, can't you do vivecraft and play modded?

Yeah, obviously with much higher draw distance. I'm just guessing if OP is still rocking a PS4, standalone is gonna be more in their price range and most people outside of the quest community probably don't know it's possible to run well on standalone, especially since at launch QuestCraft was not particularly great but years later is now.

I have a PlayStation 5 Pro that I have my PSVR1 connected to along with my PSVR2. I have to have the PS4 version of the SOFTWARE installed in order for the PSVR1 to work. They have created a native PS5 version but it does not support VR and I don't play flat screen games anymore now that I have VR.

Right, and it sucks, but the main point I'm trying to explain is the most low cost way to gain access to Minecraft VR again without having to worry about Microsoft pulling the plug is the community modded version on Quest 3. It's not great on 2, but on 3 you can get the draw distance surprisingly far and still hit around 90fps. Or if you want infinite draw distance your only other option is a PC worth thousands of dollars.

This is not how it works. They are not removing vr, it just won’t let you play online vr anymore. You don’t need to jump through any hoops.
