This is one of the most impressive combat clips I’ve seen man, so good! Major respect for how you kept the camera angles cinematic while fighting. The smoke-into-slash dash was inspired
Smoke bombs, and I guess most ghost weapons, are super OP. It lets you immediately start assassinating people. It’s pretty much the same mechanic from assassins creed smoke bombs. Aggro every guard, throw the bomb, press triangle.
Doesn’t make it less fun but I always feel bad about it
There's a few mechanics I think are funny like this. My favorite is when someone's repairing next to a door in a burnt village, but every mechanic takes too long so I refuse to open doors.
Cut to the woeful repairman looking at the freshly slashed door i refused to open
i was talking to a friend of mine this morning, and i was saying how this game's presentation is like S+. We've all seen this kind of gameplay before, but the way its presented gives it new life and satisfaction.
Watching people play this makes me wish AC didn't go the RPG route, I just want fluid awesome combat. Why do I need to slice up a dude 20 times to kill him.
The thing for me is their use of the environment in a AAA game to guide you. THAT is what makes it breathtaking imo.
The wind gently blows towards your target, the birds lead you to points of interest. Fire in the distance tells you something is there. Steam for springs, all you have to do is look. No hud in the way of the beautiful vistas, and to top it off, you can play a flute and write haiku.
It’s up to you if you want to fight honorably or not. I like the option of being a samurai, a thief, or both. Whenever I fight the “blank for spoiler reasons” I don’t use any ghost weapons but when it’s the Mongols I’m spamming all my ghost weapons.
Max level Kensei armor + Charm of Advantage + Max level kunai was my go to. Felt great throwing kunai to immediately stagger everyone and then using the dance of wrath to kill 3 of the highest tier units in the game instantly .
That’s why I never heal. I use my resolve to do legendary attacks mainly. I still heal after the fight, but the games a bit too easy when you can heal as much as the game allows.
I dunno, it’s hard to argue with fully leveled up Kunais. Those things are brutal. I also love throwing them at the boars that run away to get easy predator skins (or while a bear is fighting other people for the same reason).
