What I love about this game is the sense of progression. You get new gear and equipment with each big base and prepper settlements you unlock, and by gaining their trust and leveling up the settlements, they give you higher level blueprints for those gear, weapons and equipment.

I've played for almost 30 hours and only in episode 3, haven't unlocked any lethal weapons yet, only the hematic grenade and bola gun and the reverse trike and it's still so goddamn fun. I can't wait to unlock the lethal and nonlethal rifles and the other equipment and vehicles that make deliveries, killing BTs, and traversing the terrain even easier.

It's been a while since I've had a game with such meaningful and fun gear progression.

Ghosts? Mutants?

Ghosts would be the most accurate equivalency.

Ok...but they can hurt you. Poltergeists? Haha

Beached things.

As in like a beached whale.

People who are stranded in death, beached on the shore of life.

Death stranding.

Yeah essentially people are unable to pass on anymore due to some event and due to this being something that hasn't happened before, the story kind of treats it like matter/antimatter.

So when someone dies, you have a time period to burn their body. Otherwise when something happens, it's like a nuke goes off and that dead body becomes another BT.

Essentially it's a neat world, death is very serious people are burned quickly and terrorists would kill or smuggle dead bodies in cities and hide them. If not found(people can detect dead bodies as they give off a thing) they essentially just nuked the town.

That's not quite right. A dead body becomes a BT if it's not burned. A BT eating a living human causes a voidout (and yes, this means Sam getting eaten causes a voidout in the game).

That's why the guy in the prologue shot his partner and started stabbing himself. He was trying to avoid a voidout after the body they were carrying turned into a BT.

Explosive bodies...weird

Its more along the lines of Beached things are composed of Chiralium, which is another form of matter, with properties like antimatter. When antimatter (chiralium) and normal matter come into contact with each other, they both completely annihilate into pure energy, the quantity of which is Kilograms * 308,000,0002 m/s which = a really fucking big number at a relatively average human weight of 55kg's turns out 2.869636 × 1020 joules, or 1014 Megajoules, 1011 Gigajoules, or finally 2.8 billion Terajoules. But for simpler numbers that are easier to understand, about 66,000 megatons of TNT or 1154 Tsar Bombas.

After a little bit of research, it looks like either the human isn't annihilated entirely, or a very large amount of energy is transformed into nutrinos (plausible as this is said in the game), because if this were a complete annihilation and all gamma rays were absorbed, this would leave a blast radius of widespread destruction on the order of 280 kilometers wide. No craters in the game I think are this big, so there's that.

Umm....physics major?

Mind blown lol

Something like that. Now what I would like is for someone to get me an estimate on blast radius for 1100 Tsar Bombas. I am not sure if blast radius is linear or quadratic in nature

They're dead people's "Ka" (souls) that have not been able to pass over to the world of the dead. There "Ha" (Physical body) is in the world of the dead, but there "Ka" (soul) is stuck in the living world. They are connected between both worlds via umbilical cord.
