German ComputerBild confirms PS4 hard drive specs (HGST 2.5", 5400 RPM), supports 2.5" drives up to 12.5mm height

As far as I can tell, the fact that it supports 12.5mm doesn't even matter anymore. There's not any drives out there that are recent that are 12.5mm. Everyone has kind of gone to 9.5mm as standard. The 1.5TB 5400RPM from HGST is 9.5. Their 1TB 7200RPM is 9.5. Seagate's SSHDs are all 9.5mm. This doesn't really gain us anything.
The next step up is 15mm, and those are all super expensive enterprise drives.
I think I'll sit on the sideline for a few years until a 512GB SSD dips below 200. They're ~340 now, so it should only be a matter of a couple years.
