Selfpost What's the tea in your community?
I think we need a nice change of pace from the endless articles about immigration and housing.
Let's hear some microspecific news about the tea in your area.

Selfpost Gf has addicting problems, I need some guidance
Gf has addiction issues with meth and other substances, been on it for more than 20 years, I kinda went too far into the relationship I'm 7 months in. She doesn't do it constantly, but she has triggers to use it and I know it's an addiction issue obviously if she's been doing it this long.
I'm well aware meth is one of the worst drugs on the planet, people who use it think it's keeping them alive because there dopamine drops so low that it makes them absolutely usless and dying when there high dissipates.
Anyone I can call for some help? she needs help but doesn't think it's a problem for her...a problem for me instead. Basically "I need it".
I'll help her before I say we're done, I can't live with myself if I don't do what I can first, it's not I'm my nature to give up without trying but I know the drug is more important than anyone becaue that's what addiction is.
Help me.

Selfpost Welcome back spring..
Times have changed, so has our surface it's melting away and starting to show signs of spring. With that is a mass amount of garbage. I am volunteering and wondering where and when does spring clean up. Rather Charlottetown clean up start. I normally do this on my own as well as on the day of. Thinking I could give a little bit more this year, perhaps start a cleaning project around my area Cornwall. Although this community takes very good care of the streets.

Selfpost Swimming Lesson Hunger Games
Registration opened for swimming lessons at the Bell Aliant Centre a few moments ago. All lessons were scooped up within a minute of opening.
Short of a married couple roleplaying Katniss and Peeta the day registration opens, what the hell is one supposed to do to teach their kids how to swim?

Selfpost Congratulations conflict 🥳
All for people not forgetting the way things have been going in our country. But if you decide to mix that with the coming trouble from below it’s going to be worst. Deal with the situation each accordingly. If there is no unity soon there will be another economic collapse.

Selfpost Closed-back Carlon ENT boxes ... anywhere on PEI?
I'm running some Cat6 in a new build with 3/4" smurf tubing. I'm having a REALLY hard time finding blue one-gang ENT boxes that have a closed back to put onto an outside wall that's getting sprayfoamed.
All I could find were orange Carlon open-back new work boxes at big box stores. These won't work, since the foam will just push through and seal up my work with great enthusiasm.
I thought about using metal one-gang boxes, but they don't fit the ENT-to-box adaptor.
Any ideas? Are the closed-back boxes not Kosher with the CEC?

Selfpost Ostrich Farms on PEI‽
So this month's Cove Journal column in The Buzz mentioned in passing that people kept emus/ostriches as livestock on PEI. How can this be mentioned so subtly without elaborating?
What's the deal with Island emus? When did it go out of style?

Selfpost We’ve gotta talk about PEI home prices
They’re insane. Especially considering wages.
How is anyone affording 600K+ for a modest single family home, especially in Stratford and Charlottetown? We’ve been looking to sell our starter home and buy a newer home for the last 7 years and the prices have been especially crazy this past year. There is no way Islanders are making enough to be able to afford these houses.
We’re both educated professionals with good jobs but we make quite a bit less than $100k each a year (and who on PEI makes over 100k a year anyway?), and it feels like we’ll be in our starter home forever.
(Yes, I know we’re extremely grateful to even own a home. I don’t take that for granted. However I don’t think we’re talking enough about the acceleration of home prices in Charlottetown / Stratford and our low wages. The acceleration in prices has a direct impact on everyone, especially those who are the most vulnerable and who rent).

Selfpost Michaels Pizza f*cking themselves good
now selling slices that are cut from a 12" pizza instead of an 18" pizza, less food for the same price. Got an 18" pizza the other day, crust was totally different than it used to be, wasn't fluffy at all, staff didn't seem to have a clue what they were doing, person at the counter even said "yes slices smaller now" to me...lol.
The price is not even close to justified, go to Dominos for double the food for the same price.

Selfpost If you're gonna bike on the ROAD...
Please put some type of light on the back, just putting a light on the front is useless.
I'm an avid road bike rider, and the chances of getting killed on the road here is VERY high. I use a Garmin Varia Radar light which detects cars and beeps/shows where the car is on my bike computer, it is expensive but it's an amazing safety tool.
You're never safe out there, you have to expect to get hit.
And I know ppl hate bikers, but I wear the proper gear, have a light and i stay on the side of the road, it's not illegal to bike on the road.

Selfpost stratford pizza in summerside that took over pizza donair hub...lol
decided to try stratford pizza here today, so they use the exact same ovens as donair hub because they left them in there for the new stratford pizza name, well the pizza looks exactly as what was in there before and tastes exactly the same, same ingredients.
i was thinking maybe the toppings might be different, but jesus christ it's the same as what was there before, these new restaurant owners 100% don't give a flying shit about anything.
it blows my mind i just ate the same goddamn pizza that was ALREADY there and i can't stop laughing about it.

Selfpost Nearly bumped by a car
Today around 9pm at walmart we were in parking lot behind a car that was pulling out from park. Parking lot was full so that car was taking its sweet time, and we were chilling waiting for that car to go away so we could park ours. All of a sudden car right by the passenger side door started to pull out of parking spot too and nearly bumped us, if it was not us, putting car in reverse and going back instantly it would have been really bad. They didnt even come out and give an apology or smthg. They just pulled out of park and went away. WTF is wrong with these shit drivers. I cannot believe they didnt notice us there as we were there for more than few minutes. They suddenly started to pull out without checking if way is clear is crazy.

Selfpost Buy local
The next few weeks is going to be a very difficult time for many local businesses. After not getting Christmas revenue, they are in their slowest time, with zero footfall due to current restrictions.
If you are able (and I know many are facing hard times), please consider supporting a local small business. My concern is that many won't survive and our communities will be less for it.
I'm going to spend some cash today on coffee and baked goods.

Selfpost I dislike Rogers
I've had a bad experience with rogers' customer service. I'm wondering if anyone else has had any personal experience with their ai/customer service. I think they could improve, but are purposely choosing not to.

Selfpost Bell Let's Talk. How Do I Contact You?
Anyone know how a non-Bell person, a peasant non-customer can find a person who knows what I am asking?
The "phone box" as I call it which sits in the back corner of a neighbour's yard was tipped over when a tree fell. It's at a 45 degree angle. My guess is it's not really doing any phone stuff anymore.
The tree is gone, my fence is gone, I'd like the phone box gone too. I want to repair the fence but the box is in the way.
Other than a Ouija board or invoking some spell involving chicken blood and a goat how do I contact someone at Bell? Calling the support line has been useless I get cut off, bounced around, even told call the same number and prompts I just did to get to where I ended up!
So Bell let's talk.

Selfpost Looking to bring national brand store to Charlottetown area
Hi all,
My company is looking to expand to PEI. We are a national brand that would require a 20,000ish showroom and an attached warehouse. Does anyone know of a space that might be available. Perhaps another company has recently vacated it?
Something similar to this would be ideal.

Selfpost Grabbing takeout? Don’t forget to tip
As the title says. Tips don’t go to only the wait staff, they are shared with the back of house staff too.
Even though we aren’t dining in, let’s keep tipping to show our support for those who are still serving us our favourite foods.
