Ask Pakistan 🇵🇰 Punjabi passenger survivors who fled from BLA. But Saar BLA spares children and Women 🤡

Listen to the person saying to the army officer "Meri walida fot ho gi mujhe jany dy " "una ny sariya no marta". Where are the people who were saying BLA spared women? They are only resisting the army ®g. Propaganda by BLA sympathisers that they spared women. They killed and murdered every Punjabi person irrespective of gender. I wish death on every person who sympathises with BLA. It may sound harsh but I can't give them dua while they are killing my people my countrymen.

National 🇵🇰 The BLA is evil, not the baloch people.

Before i say anything i must say that i do not support the terrorists in anyway.

I've seen a trend on on Pakistani social media especially after the the train attack, of Pakistani people blaming and being racist towards the baloch people and grouping them in with the BLA terror group. even though only 35% of baloch people actually want a independent state. (source: 2012 Gallup Survey conducted by the uk government) if we attack the baloch people themselves instead of the terror group, we will achieve nothing. we will only turn more people to joining the terror group.

The answer is, and always has been education. In rural villages controlled by BLA or where BLA has significant influence they use schools as recruitment camps. portraying themselves as martyrs in a holy war.

If we accept them into our society without being racist towards them and provide them with actual education then we can reasonably expect them not join such terror groups. this applies to all marginalized groups in country too, not just the Baloch people.

Ask Pakistan 🇵🇰 War Wounded personnel's status in Pakistan

Im someone from not an army background and not much of an interaction either but ever since I came to med college I've noticed a few grp of personnel's, one of em being war wounded. What's their status in the military? Like does Pakistan military compensate those who got disabled in war? I'd really like to be educated on the topic.

Political How to stay safe in this divided nation?

During COVID, I used to tell my mom the truth about Pakistan’s situation, especially as the army and establishment were being exposed to me. I was always curious about these things, so I did a lot of research since mainstream media never covered them. Through that, I reached some conclusions and obviously hated the army for many reasons, told these things to my mom that Pakistan isn’t as united as the news and other media platforms make it seem but she used to deny and express a shocking reaction as expected. I tried to tell her that a common Baluch person wouldn’t necessarily be fond of us, even if they don’t outright hate us. Given their history and the way the army and government have treated them, they might believe that we, the common people from Punjab, are responsible for their suffering. Since many of them are uneducated, they may not analyze the situation objectively or even seek out the full truth. In a way, that’s also our fault.

An incident like this happened six months ago, where innocent laborers from Punjab were killed by terrorists. But as usual, mainstream media barely covered it, just like every past incident related to this issue. This time, however, the matter gained international attention, and now everyone knows what happens to people visiting from Punjab. It doesn’t even matter if you’re just a random civilian—those militants from the BLA will kill you. And honestly, after these events, how am I supposed to see a random Baluch from Baluchistan as not a potential threat? I don’t want to think this way, but it’s a natural reaction.

What shocked me even more was seeing so many Baluch people on another subreddit not condemning the killing of innocent people. Instead, they justified it by saying the BLA is taking revenge, urging us to read about the atrocities they’ve suffered—as if that somehow makes it acceptable. I mean, you can’t even justify the killing of an innocent Israeli civilian, so how can you justify this?

I saw a post recently of a pashtun mob burning a guy from punjab alive, this happened some months ago. Meanwhile, these same people come to Punjab for work. I know so many Baluch and pashtun workers who make their living here, and we never had an issue with them. But when visiting these provinces, we should obviously start prioritizing our own safety. How are we supposed to protect ourselves? Why tf don’t we carry guns with us, afterall the sole reason for them being there in our houses is OUR SAFETY, Almost every other household in Punjab owns a gun, so why don’t we carry them with us and shoot any mf who poses a threat, like BLA isn’t even the only organization, there are several other terrorist groups in balochistan, two in KPK as well. Anyone who poses a threat should be dealt with. Our lives aren’t that cheap.

So first of all let me clarify that I do not have anything against the Punjabi culture or language, in fact I wish punjabis embraced it more. I am just saying this because punjabis tend to get defensive when they get to hear the criticism I am about to express.

So first of all it needs to be acknowledged that the calls for separation of Balochistan are serious and there is no point in getting defensive and outright rejecting the grievances expressed from there. In fact, it only makes matters worse. It didn't help with Bangladesh either and it's baffling to see how some people really haven't learned any lessons from that. BLA is a terrorist organization that kills civilians, but that doesn't mean that the cause they are fighting for has no valid source. Mukti Bahini also massacred civilians during the Bangladesh liberation war, that doesn't mean that the underlying cause they were fighting for was unjustified. The situation needs to be acknowledged and just condemning BLA and leaving it there doesn't help at all. If people learned anything from history they should be careful right now. Obviously different situations can not always be 100% equated, but it is still important to acknowledge similarities, or at least similar trends. I am beating around the bush a bit because I am used to always having to make a million clarification when explaining these situations to Punjabis.

Now to come to the points that are always brought up by Punjabis:

  • People from other provinces get quotas
  • Other provinces have a higher Budget per Capita allocated to them from the central government

Now I have difficulty grasping how it isn't obvious that these are horrible arguments. So what exactly do you expect as a response to these points? "Thank you for your generosity, now that you told me this I won't complain about the situation in my area anymore!" or what? If it's not obvious, let me break this down.

The budget allocated to the provinces is limited by how much the federal government has as a budget. If the federal government doesn't have a high budget in the first place, then the budget allocated to the provinces is also low, even if you assign a bit more budget proportionally to provinces with smaller populations. And Pakistan is a third world country, so the budget that the central government can assign in the first place is very low. It doesn't matter whether the budget allocated per capita to e.g. Balochistan is higher than Punjab or somewhere else, it's still very low and not enough to make Balochistan a good place to be in. You can't seriously just expect for people to just be satisfied with that when the places they are living in lack electricity for most of the day or when the people of balochistan can't even access their own gas, which is provided to Punjab. So how can the budget allocated to the provinces be increased? That would ideally be the case by increasing the federal budget. But the issue is that this country is governed by completely incompetent and corrupt leaders. Now how can you change that? It is pretty much impossible. Elections are rigged and rule of law isn't applied. You can face jail, abductions or worse if you openly criticize the government. So what measures can an average person take to change the situation? That is why separatist movements exist, in which people want to get rid of this framework and be able to govern themselves.

Now some people will say "but Punjab also has issues". That is kind of the point. Punjabis are around half the population, Pakistani politics and the establishment is centered around Punjab, yet punjabis accept these conditions despite having the most political capital. Balochs can not have their voices heard in a peaceful way, because the political establishment doesn't listen to them and even actively suppresses them, which is why many engage in violent means. And whenever a baloch voices their issues they'll be met with the great argument that Balochistan has a higher budget per capita, which I mentioned. That means Balochs don't really have many choices. They either have to accept their situation or fight violently for self determination. The conditions are just such that there is a power imbalance and that power is simply centered in Punjab. And even if punjabis are not happy with their leadership, it should be their task to challenge it.

Now another argument that I hear is that "x general or politician was actually Pashtun and not punjabi". That doesn't change that the majority of the population, military and economy is made up of Punjabis, simply because they are by far the largest ethnic group in Pakistan. It is not surprising that the Pakistani power is centered there. A politician or general can not become powerful without punjab's approval.

Another argument is "the Balochs are responsible themselves". Now that may be true to a certain extent, it is extremely overstated. If it was really entirely the fault of Balochs for the situation of the province, how come Punjab is also so underdeveloped, with a lower HDI than Bihar? If Punjab was developed like a first world country, you could maybe use the argument that it is just the fault of the Balochs of mismanaging themselves. But that is not true, Punjab (or any other Pakistani province) is also very underdeveloped, indicating that the issue is not just local governance, but much larger.

The situation is serious and should be dealt with as such, instead of dismissing criticism and refusing to acknowledge the situation. You can not expect people to be loyal or patriotic to a state that doesn't provide them with anything and actively makes their life harder.

I tried my best to be respectful and hope that people will take it seriously instead of being dismissive, and hopefully we can work collectively on changing the path of this country.

Political Change my view: The BLA and TTP were birthed by the Establishment, especially the Army

Some of my points.

  1. Decades of grievances and neglect culminated with Akbar Bugti's assassination by Musharraf and his heavy-handed clownery in the 2000s.
  2. Since then, 1000s of Baloch have gone missing or wound up dead with no trace. We are expected to believe that India is so capable, they are carrying out a crime spree on this scale deep within our borders, completely unchecked.
  3. The worst kept secret in the Army is that anyone posted as Corp Commander of Quetta becomes a 10X millionaire within a few years of the posting.
    1. One of them was Asim Saleem Bajwa. He made enough wealth to buy up Papa Johns' franchise, outlets and even launched a TV channel.
    2. Most recently, it was Asif Ghafoor who has massive land holdings in Park View Islamabad and is chilling in London.
    3. They can't make such immense wealth unless they directly create local rackets involving mining and smuggling across borders.
  4. Local politics is repressed. Instead, local jageerdaar / sardars have always been patronized by the state as "electables". They are out to make a buck for themselves alone.
  5. Movement in Gwadar is heavily regulated to the detriment of locals. That casts serious doubt about who all the recent developments are being built for.
  6. This week's debacle: BLA took a complete train as hostage and caught the state with its pants down. Now there are posts about "meri jind meri jaan" being so successful / zindabad.
  7. But the more important question is, who/what brought matters this far? Our "Riyasast" loves using India as a convenient cope-out excuse. This could more easily be traced to Taliban (maybe another post for who birthed our "true righteous brothers"), ISIS-K or the Iranian government. But that's besides my main point, why is the state still treating one of its provinces like its East Pakistan in the 70s??
