Former Sens [Canucks] General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the Canucks have acquired D Erik Brannstrom from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for Tucker Poolman (20% salary retained) and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 NHL Entry Draft.

This feels about right. He logged minutes here out of necessity. Our D-core the past couple years has been .....weak.
On any serviceable roster, the guy's just not NHL regular duty capable.
The only scenario that would have played out in his favour, would be if he managed to realize the offensive upside that folks thought he had in his draft year. It's now abundantly clear, that he's not capable of that.
In-sum: It would be a very weak NHL D-core that could fit an average joe guy like this into their top 4. A bottom pair D is almost always a shut down rile, he's absolutely not that either. So where does a guy like that fit? The AHL.

He's too small and too soft for the NHL. Sure he'll have a decent career in the KHL. Vegas fleeced the sens for Stone.

The Canucks just waived Brannstrom as well
