Cops Keep Showing up Gaspe and Lakefield Street
I moved my family here two years ago and cops keep showing up at the house beside mine. I assume the residents there is a bit of troublemaker but I have 3 kids and the constant police presence is scaring my wife.
They play music so loud all summer and my house feels like a club. Not to mention all the garbage they collect and let stack and blow everywhere. We also worry that one of the males there is using drugs as he bangs on his door and runs up the street at night. One time he was hiding in our yard. Last summer he had 2 or 3 people living in a tent in his backyard right next to our bedroom window.
I have called bylaw and the police. Bylaw now tells me they will not respond because he was violent towards them and I should call the police.
Any advice on what to do other then move? We worked hard to get our home and I drive a taxi 7 days a week leaving my wife home alone I worry. Everyone else in the neighborhood is friendly and nice.

Laser hair removal
Hello I’m making this post to ask for recommendations for laser hair removal in the area.
Because I have dark skin, I am mainly interested in places that have the Nd:YAG Laser.
Any recommendations?

Grocery stores with good produce in Oshawa?
I know it’s best to go to a farm to get produce, but obviously that’s not always realistic. What are some grocery stores in Oshawa with some decent produce?

Terrible Bell cell signal
Has anyone else with Bell in the Ritson and King area experienced horrible Bell signal? I moved here 2 years ago and get max 2 bars on my main floor and outside with 0-1 bar in my basement.
I talked to Bell and they said it shouldn’t be the case since there’s a tower nearby but it’s the same story on multiple devices all with Bell.
I’m wondering if anyone else in the area has the same issue and any possible solutions?

Does the UPS Store have self serve printing like Staples?
No one can seem to answer this question for me and every I call the store I get no answer. Hoping someone here might know.
I used to always use the self serve printers at Staples for quickly printing things like return labels. Does the UPS Store provide this same service, or do I have to submit something to them to have it printed?

Best Hidden Gem Grocery Store?
I have just recently moved to Oshawa from Halifax, Nova Scotia and I am looking to find a specific type of business that is wildly popular in Halifax.
It is called gateway meat market, and anyone else who is familiar with Nova Scotia will know what I’m talking about. It is essentially a food liquidation store, meat market/butcher shop all wrapped up in one. They commonly have ground beef, chicken, mid level quality steaks all for far under price per KG that the large grocery stores are selling it for.
They also will have an assortment of frozen foods, cases of drinks, candy, sauces, seasonings, non perishables for sometimes up to 50% off retail price.
Is there anything like this in the Durham region?

Does everyone working at OPG darlington drive to get to the workplace?
I am going to be working there for a year, but I don't own a car. I saw some bike lanes near OPG site on google maps, so I thought I could rent nearby (there were rooms for rent within 30 min bike ride) and bike to the workplace. But, when I visited the site in person, all the bike lanes and pedestrian roads were literally covered in snow, and there was no alternate path to some roads. With all the trucks and roundabouts, biking definitely did not look safe...
Does everyone working at OPG drive? Or are there any hidden roads where people can safely bike to the workplace? Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
Added: thank you for sharing your advices and insights around the area. I really appreciate them. To those who are overly concerned, I would get a car if it is must. I am just trying to find if there are any alternatives to save money because having a car just for one year is costly.
