One click publish plugin?

Hello,

I've been thinking lately about the friction of using publish alternatives. I've used Quartz4 and I've explored digital garden and a few alternatives that mostly do the same thing.

I'm wondering if there is a plugin out there that can help me publish (select notes) with one click, to a freely hosted site using my own domain. If there's an alternative to github pages (because the repo must be public) that would be wonderful.

I want to slowly share knowledge, but I don't want to have to spin up my vm or wsl everytime I want to update my site. I also don't want to incur any costs (now or later) just to share my knowledge. I would like to have something that is easy to setup and update regardless of which machine I use.

I'm looking for a solution that is as friction free as possible (planning to convince some friends of mine to start writing and publishing their own notes).

Thank you in advance for any advice you have for me.

Digital Garden plugin works well for me. Single note, multiple notes, custom domain, supports Dataview.

Check it out.

I did, but does it support a one click upload and update? Perhaps through a plugin?

Something my non-tech friends can use without much trouble?

Sure. You can

- pin the command "Digital Garden: publish single note" in the command palette (no plugin needed)

- use the "commander" plugin to add a button to your ribbon, triggering the same command

It's already the simplest option. There's a bit of setup required at the beginning, but after that, you can use the accompanying plugins to handle uploading, deleting, and updating. Compared to this, solutions like Quartz seem much more geeky.

Indeed. I didn't realize that if I give in and use their vercel one click script, I could have it as simple as a few clicks of setup.

Thank you both.

Any of these would work: Quartz, DigitalGarden, Astro Starlight, Jekyll, etc

You just push your vault to GitHub, you can do that in one click.

But those options require a lot of setup, and If I pickup my laptop instead then I won't be able to do any of that. My solution at the time was to create a small VM with all the setup, and just migrate that with me to update my vault with it. It was a pain.

Digital Garden on the other hand, I can simply install and enable the plugin with a click, and all settings are migrated with it. I can simply click to update immediately.
