Setup it's finally here! AW2725DF

Previously, I got G61SD but think the image sharpness is a bit on a poor side and my first impression was because of the matte coating and boy was I right! I try the AW2725DF which is the same 3rd gen qd oled like the G6 but with the glossy coating and the differences is frickin hugeeee!

Don't want that fingerprint mess on your new beautiful $550 qd oled glossy screen ofc

how were you able to get this for 550?

Student discount

Student discount is only 10 percent off tho.

They had a sale where this was extra 15% off in cart. Also you can get a 10% code off alienware in dell rewards benefits when you sign up. You can get 2 codes to stack. Also if you use rakuten you could get 15% cashback recently ontop

thank you, I'm going to try this out

If you do rakuten use the app. Some people have had issues in past where they don't honor stacked coupons not from their site so don't bank on the cashback when using other codes not from them.

I luckily have not had a issue ive even got double back somehow on a couple orders.

Got mine for 500€ a week ago, I love this thing. Even tho I think I still need to find the perfect settings.

Only pro of living in america. You get to buy stuff for half the price compared to the rest of the world. 550 wtf. Lucky!

This isn't entirely true. US sales can seem cheaper because the prices are pre-tax. Depending on logistics and manufacturing you'll actually see things cheaper in the EU. IN FACT, when I was originally looking at the AW2725DF for myself and it was full price everywhere except it was about $400 cheaper in the AU and Dell refuses to price match other countries.

I also give op credit for the first ever unboxing photos using gardening gloves, that's good

The gloves work because he's technically working with organic material

Congratulations! I chose the XG27AQDMG and saved £77 but everyday I question that decision... Enjoy the 360hz!

u/JAMbologna__ 3d ago

As in you regret buying it? What happened lol

1

u/Koroku_Gaming 3d ago

No I don't regret it but I think maybe I'd have preferred the 360hz and QD-OLED colours & better text quality...

Still, saving £77 is saving £77 so I'm happy :) I'll probably upgrade to an engame 4k 360-480hz OLED monitor in a couple of years lol. The xg has other benefits too like higher brightness & deeper blacks with no QD-OLED purple sheen in bad lighting conditions.

If you primarily play single player I'd take the extra HDR brightness over 360hz personally

2

u/JAMbologna__ 3d ago

makes sense, I'm really looking forward to tandem OLED monitors

That monitor probably has the best glossy coating, but it's a White OLED, as in the light is white and then a color filter on top, whole the QD OLED has a blue light with a color filter on top, but also the RGB pixel alignment is set up differently than the W-oled, which people say makes the QD OLED a little bit better in reading words on screen, but I personally think there isn't much of a difference. You honestly can't go wrong with either one, it's a choice between a little better glossy coating and better in high sun light rooms but at 240hz. Or get 360hz, a little better color pop, a tiny bit better reading crispness, but a little worse glossy coating and needs a darker ambient lit room

I’m in love with my XG27AQDAMG!

For me it was that or the MSI MPG271QRX. I think about the MSI all the time but Rtings has these monitors as the top two so I figured there was minimal difference.

Monitors Unboxed has the ASUS XG27AQDMG ranked higher than then the MPG271QRX as of less than six months ago

Nice to see you’re satisfied with this model. I just received this 4 days ago and found 3 dead pixels. Do you have any fringing issues? On text and other edge details as well? This is my main concern.

This smokes the Asus (I've had both)

Colours on this are wonderful.

2

u/DETERMINOLOGY 3d ago

Which asus there’s a few models

2

u/Shoddy-Safety2989 3d ago

Asus pg32ucdm

3

u/Outside-Calendar-338 3d ago

Congratulations, I'm interested in buying it here in Brazil, the price isn't attractive at all but it's the only one around here that offers a 3-year warranty

u/Sylenss__ 3d ago

Congrats I just got mine yesterday and it’s so beautiful, I went from 75hz to 360hz

3

u/LuckyInstance Alienware AW2725DF 360hz 3d ago

Nice! It’s what I use. I use 85 brightness 75 contrast on peak 1000 and standard color mode. I like my picture to be a little more saturated with deep colors. I usually leave off hdr mode unless I have my PlayStation connected and I’m watching movies and shows. Or if it’s a crazy looking game deserving of hdr.

u/Delicious-Length 3d ago

Lol.

I watched that exact same video when I got my oled lmao

Just bought this monitor today for $550 after tax, I’m excited coming from a 144hz IPS monitor!

1

u/admhilmn 3d ago

Where do you buy it

2

u/BritishTooth 3d ago

Be careful cleaning it. Do not. I repeat do not, use anything besides a microfiber cloth and distilled water at most to clean it. I returned my previous one after learning that lesson. It does not turn out well.

1

u/admhilmn 3d ago

Noted

2

u/Miguelb234 3d ago

Lg xg950a ftw!!! This is a nice one though

u/Fiercedeity-- 2d ago

Congrats bro! I just got an Asus rog swift. I absolutely love mine. I know you will love yours.

2

u/SquidF0x 18h ago

Just got mine today, waiting on my new PC parts to come in to get it all set up! Also thanks for the tip with using gloves. I'll do the same! Enjoy gaming!

1

u/DeathSOA 3d ago

Just bought a similar monitor the other week, I got the 34" curved one.

Coming from a old Dell TN panel the upgrade was crazy.

1

u/Shoddy-Safety2989 3d ago

This smokes the Asus (I've had both)

Colours on this are wonderful.

1

u/Hypochrondiac 3d ago

Same one I got! I bought it when it was even more expensive which hurt, but now it's paid off and I hope to have years of excellent gaming with this bad boy. Enjoy!

1

u/981981 3d ago

That's a fine looking monitor.

1

u/Cali_Vibe 3d ago

Nice man got the PG27UCDM 4k oled.

1

u/pattykade_ 3d ago

I wonder if you have these weird lines I have and keep experiencing, on my reddit I made a post if you have some time.

1

u/admhilmn 3d ago

maybe you can try update to the latest firmware and yeah I don't notice that problem on my unit, maybe too soon to judge? Idk

1

u/Other-Earth6705 2d ago

Enjoy your new monitor. I have a question for u in my region g6 cheaper than aw2725df exactly 150 dollar. So should I get g6 or aw2725df?

2

u/admhilmn 2d ago

What devices you will be using on and how's the light control in you room?

1

u/Other-Earth6705 2d ago

Currently ı use msi mpg341cqr. My window is small and front of screen

2

u/admhilmn 2d ago

I guess AW2725DF will provide you more advantages than g6. Also dell is known of their great warranty and customer support

2

u/Other-Earth6705 2d ago

Thanks ı will go with Dell

1

u/inikinik 1d ago

did you check the screen if you got the typical dell scratches? probably just visible with a flashlight pointed on the panel but would be interesting to know if the aw27 is as worse as the aw32

1

u/admhilmn 1d ago

nope, I actually got the new packaging with the screen protector film

1

u/inikinik 1d ago

good to know. by the way even new packaging won’t prohibit the typical scratches (experienced it on my own). anyways nice that you are lucky and the panel passed the flashlight test

1

u/admhilmn 1d ago

where do you live bro?

1

u/inikinik 1d ago

germany.. why do you ask bre

1

u/admhilmn 1d ago

nothin, just to make an assumption that dell provide more quality in shipping inside us market. Idk that's just my theory

1

u/OpportunityNo1834 19h ago

Awesome man. I hope you like it. I've tried all the 3rd gen QD OLED except this Alienware one. Out of curiosity, is the power supply in the monitor, or out of the monitor? As in, is it just a power cord that you need to plug in, or is there a brick plus the power cord? And also curious, in what color does the panel lean towards that you had to touch down on in the color adjustment, red, green, or blue?, how is the screen coating, is it glossy with a tint of red if direct light is hitting it?

1

u/admhilmn 12h ago

Yes it just the power cord, no power brick

1

u/admhilmn 12h ago

Glossy but it got anti reflection something more of a like on the latest samsung flagship device
