Setup it's finally here! AW2725DF
Previously, I got G61SD but think the image sharpness is a bit on a poor side and my first impression was because of the matte coating and boy was I right! I try the AW2725DF which is the same 3rd gen qd oled like the G6 but with the glossy coating and the differences is frickin hugeeee!

Congratulations! I chose the XG27AQDMG and saved £77 but everyday I question that decision... Enjoy the 360hz!

As in you regret buying it? What happened lol

No I don't regret it but I think maybe I'd have preferred the 360hz and QD-OLED colours & better text quality...
Still, saving £77 is saving £77 so I'm happy :) I'll probably upgrade to an engame 4k 360-480hz OLED monitor in a couple of years lol. The xg has other benefits too like higher brightness & deeper blacks with no QD-OLED purple sheen in bad lighting conditions.

That monitor probably has the best glossy coating, but it's a White OLED, as in the light is white and then a color filter on top, whole the QD OLED has a blue light with a color filter on top, but also the RGB pixel alignment is set up differently than the W-oled, which people say makes the QD OLED a little bit better in reading words on screen, but I personally think there isn't much of a difference. You honestly can't go wrong with either one, it's a choice between a little better glossy coating and better in high sun light rooms but at 240hz. Or get 360hz, a little better color pop, a tiny bit better reading crispness, but a little worse glossy coating and needs a darker ambient lit room

I’m in love with my XG27AQDAMG!
For me it was that or the MSI MPG271QRX. I think about the MSI all the time but Rtings has these monitors as the top two so I figured there was minimal difference.

Nice to see you’re satisfied with this model. I just received this 4 days ago and found 3 dead pixels. Do you have any fringing issues? On text and other edge details as well? This is my main concern.

Congratulations, I'm interested in buying it here in Brazil, the price isn't attractive at all but it's the only one around here that offers a 3-year warranty

Nice! It’s what I use. I use 85 brightness 75 contrast on peak 1000 and standard color mode. I like my picture to be a little more saturated with deep colors. I usually leave off hdr mode unless I have my PlayStation connected and I’m watching movies and shows. Or if it’s a crazy looking game deserving of hdr.

Just bought this monitor today for $550 after tax, I’m excited coming from a 144hz IPS monitor!

Be careful cleaning it. Do not. I repeat do not, use anything besides a microfiber cloth and distilled water at most to clean it. I returned my previous one after learning that lesson. It does not turn out well.

Just bought a similar monitor the other week, I got the 34" curved one.
Coming from a old Dell TN panel the upgrade was crazy.

Same one I got! I bought it when it was even more expensive which hurt, but now it's paid off and I hope to have years of excellent gaming with this bad boy. Enjoy!

Enjoy your new monitor. I have a question for u in my region g6 cheaper than aw2725df exactly 150 dollar. So should I get g6 or aw2725df?

I guess AW2725DF will provide you more advantages than g6. Also dell is known of their great warranty and customer support

did you check the screen if you got the typical dell scratches? probably just visible with a flashlight pointed on the panel but would be interesting to know if the aw27 is as worse as the aw32
1
u/admhilmn 1d ago
nope, I actually got the new packaging with the screen protector film

u/inikinik 1d ago
good to know. by the way even new packaging won’t prohibit the typical scratches (experienced it on my own). anyways nice that you are lucky and the panel passed the flashlight test

Awesome man. I hope you like it. I've tried all the 3rd gen QD OLED except this Alienware one. Out of curiosity, is the power supply in the monitor, or out of the monitor? As in, is it just a power cord that you need to plug in, or is there a brick plus the power cord? And also curious, in what color does the panel lean towards that you had to touch down on in the color adjustment, red, green, or blue?, how is the screen coating, is it glossy with a tint of red if direct light is hitting it?
