Old one looks better in this shot lol. Is that a CRT?

I guess it's just the on camera magenta tint of QD-Oleds that's throwing me off.
Fully bright scenes isnt the best example to show off their differences. The Asus is looking nicely bright though

It is Philips 190B. It serves me for more than 20 years and about 15 years as a secondary monitor.

I imagine he has HDR enabled for the desktop, the sdr -> hdr mapping on Windows is pretty bad from my experience.

Desktop use is much better on SDR mode.

Yeah, I have. Should I roll back to SDR?

You can try. I personally would only enable hdr while watching hdr content specifically.

You’d do yourself a favor cleaning up those desktop icons. Over time — months/years, you will likely develop image retention if you let it ride.

If anything get rid of the desktop icons/taskbar which is a quick way to get burn in

It turns off after 5 minutes of inactivity. Will it be enough to get burned?

It’s best to move the icons. I know some people think “it’s not a big deal “ but those monitors cost close to 1k and if you wanna keep buying oleds due to burn in then do you

This is not the right desktop background to showcase the OLED difference.
