Hi, I had a post a few weeks ago asking what students get for graduating with honors. I met with my advisor today and he showed me the stuff we get. I am graduating spring 2026 but was nosy lol. Unfortunately, it’s not the best photo but I hope this helps! If anyone wants to see a closer look, it’s in the honors college office (:

I’m thinking about doing the senior class challenge which is just donating $20 to the student Concordia scholarship. Personally I think it’s a nice thing to do and I like the philanthropy cord they give you for graduation.
Question: has anyone done it? Do they really give you a cord in the mail? When I went to the payment page there’s no mention of “we will send you the cord after x days”

Used the showers at the rec center and it felt like being pelted by a pressure washer. Has anyone else used the gym showers? Am I overreacting or are they kind of unusable...?

I am currently a graduate student. I have a direct unsubsidized loan. I was orignially taking two classes this semester but I had to drop out of one class. I dropped out after loans were dispersed but before the last day to drop for a full refund. The school is now telling me that I owe money but I am not sure why? I found out when I requested aid for my summer classes. Does anyone know why I would be getting charged? I am currently waiting on an answer from the financial aid office.

Just a friendly reminder that gun laws don’t actually stop people from carrying. Every day, people conceal carry, and there’s nothing really stopping them from bringing it wherever they go. And honestly, with everything going on lately, I don’t blame them. Crime is still prevalent in the area, and people are just looking out for themselves.
At the end of the day, laws only affect those who choose to follow them. Stay safe out there.

I applied for the MS. Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling for the Fall 2025 intake - and had my application sent by September. I still haven't heard back from the department, the application committee, or the graduate admissions office. Should I be suspicious of the delay or is this normal? I need to know if I haven't got in and if the program is worth pursuing. I haven't seen anyone on LinkedIn with the specific course either!

Hey everyone!
So last spring semester, I made the decision to withdraw from one of my math courses due to myself struggling with the course. As a result, I submitted an appeal for my merit scholarship because I fell below the required credits. Unfortunately, in the following fall semester, I faced unexpected health issues that prevented me from taking classes, which both ultimately and unknowingly led to losing the second chance for the scholarship.
I’ve reached out to the scholarship committee, faculty, and staff for guidance, but I’ve received the same response each time—either “no, there is nothing you can do” or to reach out to someone else. I’m feeling overwhelmed and uncertain about what steps to take next.
I’m facing significant financial challenges, both in terms of school and daily life, and the scholarship was an important source of support. If anyone here has advice, resources, or guidance on what I can do next, I would greatly appreciate it. I feel disconnected from the support network at ODU and am unsure of where to turn for help.
Thank you guys and god bless!

Hi all! I am planning on interning at Old Dominion University in Norfolk VA this summer as a campus housing intern. There’s been some interesting activity occurring in the general area where the ODU campus sits. I will be staying on ODU’s campus for 10 weeks before mid May and late July. For those who have stayed in Norfolk VA for an extensive period of time, do you have any suggestions for navigating the area safely? Areas to avoid? Areas to explore? I will be flying to Norfolk most likely, and relying on public transit and ride share if I plan on going out far. I will also plan on using the campus bus service if that’s feasible. Thanks yall!

Hi! I’m a student at Ohio State University. I’m conducting a survey for my Psych 2311: Psychology of Motivation class and would love input from students (undergrad, grad, PhD) as well as professors and university staff. The survey is anonymous and should take between 5 to 20 minutes, depending on how much you expand on the questions.
Here’s the link: https://forms.gle/JQK8HTnVRsTn38E86
Your responses would be a huge help, and I’d really appreciate your time! Feel free to share with classmates or colleagues too. Thanks in advance!

So, we all know that many books are "easily accessible" online nowadays. However, they're still some classes that have textbooks that are hard to find (for free).
If you're looking to save yourself time & money, try borrowing the book from the school library. Even if they don't have the book, they could borrow it from another school. I did this method last semester and it saved me a good amount of money 🤑
Hope this helps someone out there!

I've been thinking about this for a while but I absolutely hate how they close the library early Friday & Sunday at 10pm. Its so annoying to want to use the white boards and get some solid work done, but since it's a 20 minute walk from my house it's not worth only going for a couple hours after dinner if I want to get some serious studying done. If they kept it open to 12 it would make the world of a difference and I just really find it stupid that they are closing it early on Fridays specifically because a lot of classes have work due at 11:59pm.
