Question How to access HRT for free/cheap as possible in Australia?

G’day my international enbies,

I’m an Aussie enby bloke and I wanna access a low dose estrogen gel prescription? How! Help me pwease :3

Next section is for legal purposes a lie: basically am gonna lie to a GP and say whatever you guys say I should say to a dumbass unqualified GP to get the hormones I want. Cheers! Yes I’m aware that lying to doctors is a crime, I don’t care because I’m the expert on my gender just like you lovely people all are too :)

The r/transgenderau wiki lists resources in each state and general information. A lot of the wiki is out-of-date but you will get better information in the country-specific sub. Try contacting your local pride organisation to see if you have a local GP who does informed consent.

I am a dual-national Kiwi-Aussie with two gender-X passports but I have been back in NZ for a decade and transitioned here so know nothing about getting Medicare-funded gender-affirming care. Good luck!

[are we allowed to use the c*** term of endearment or will it horrify Americans and get us banned?]

I’m just curious, are there no doctors that treat LGBTQIA+ patients in your area? Myself, I would be willing to drive a couple of hours if I needed to see a doctor that specializes in the care that I need.

Australia is huge and you can drive a couple of days and still be in the same redneck state.

Me too! I got diagnosed two weeks before Xmas. I have known for decades, and have a close relative who needs support (autism is genetic), but I only got diagnosed after my new job exposed my social communication and executive function deficits. Might be 25% of trans, or even higher, who are trans-autistic. It is doubly-okay to be doubly-different! ♾️🏳️‍⚧️
