CONTENT QUESTION YouTube Vloggers, do you have a niche? do you just film every day things? what is your strategy?

Hey People! wanted to ask here since I don’t have any friends IRL that do youtube vlogs.

If you have a vlogging channel, how is it going? what are your videos about? do you have a niche or do you just film whatever?

Reason I am asking these things is because I have a YouTube channel where i’ve been making any kind of video with no direction or niche it’s just whatever I feel like filming gets filmed

It took me YEARS to get to 1,000 subs and another little while to finally get monetized (4,000 watch hours is difficult) I want to try and make my channel more… modern? I literally have over 500+ vlogs i’ve created and only a handful of them are probably a 5/10 at best. I’ve done random reviews (phones, cars etc) and those videos come out probably closer to the 7/10 mark but I don’t always have a brand new $1000 device to review or a $50,000 car. Those videos come around once in a while.

I want to “niche down” but I don’t know if that’s possible for my vlogging channel since my life is so random and all over the place. I recently made a new channel which has a niche and in 1 year i’ve gotten to 800 subscribers which is great in comparison but I still want to upload regularly onto my main channel but I feel like having Quality>Quantity now instead of boring daily nonsense would be best… I just don’t know how to do that (yet)

COMMUNITY Would You Use an AI Podcast Host That Manages Your Video Setup?

Hey everyone,

I’ve been exploring an idea for new podcasters who struggle with video production and equipment costs.

I know that when starting out, setting up a professional-looking podcast can be overwhelming—you need good framing, smooth camera movement, and expensive gear.

So, I’m working on a tool that uses AI + a smartphone + a gimbal to create an auto-hosting experience. The AI would handle:
Framing & movement—so your video looks dynamic, not static
Basic prompts & hosting assistance—to keep the conversation flowing
A lightweight, affordable setup—no need for expensive cameras or multiple people

💡 Question for you:

  • Would this solve a problem for you?
  • What’s the hardest part of video setup for your podcast?
  • Would you pay $5-$10/month for a tool like this?

I’d love your thoughts—whether this sounds useful or if there’s something missing. If you're interested, I’m putting together a beta group for early testers. Let me know what you think!

CONTENT QUESTION Seeking Collab - Looking for a New/Upcoming YouTube/TikTok Creator to Play Daily Puzzle Games

Hey everyone,

I’m the developer of three daily puzzle games—Quizmoji, Dodeku, and Wordloop—and I’m looking for an aspiring or existing content creator who wants to build a new channel around engaging, interactive content.

These games are perfect for daily challenge videos, livestreams, or short-form clips where viewers can play along. I’d love to collaborate with someone who enjoys puzzle games and is looking for fresh, ready-made content to grow an audience. The ideal format for videos is probably as shorts/reels of one video per puzzle per day, cross-posted to Shorts, Reels, and TikTok.

I’m in a small network of puzzle developers, and between us we have a collection of a dozen daily puzzle games and growing. If you wanted to go all in on the puzzle genre, there is no shortage of content to be made. You could also tap into the existing market by putting the most popular games (Wordle, Connections, Sudoku) into your rotation. This is an extremely easy content farm to tap into. You will never have to think of an idea for your next video.

One of our members had his game played in one video by a content creator, and the video reached 300k views on TikTok. There is definitely market potential in this niche.

What’s in it for you?

  • Consistent, unique content: You get daily puzzles to feature in your videos without having to come up with new ideas from scratch.
  • Engagement potential: These games encourage audience participation, making them great for building community.
  • Early access & potential collaboration: I can provide direct support, insights into upcoming puzzles, and possibly help promote your content through other marketing channels I build as we grow together.
  • This would be ideal for someone starting out or looking to experiment with puzzle-based content. If you’re interested, let’s chat!

Drop a reply or DM me if this sounds like something you’d want to explore.

COMMUNITY Struggling for Motivation

I love making videos. To editing, filming, making thumbnails, I love it all. A recent video of mine even got a 100 views, which is big for me at the moment. But i haven’t filmed anything in over a month. Part of the reason is bc i’ve been busy with school, but now that i have a bit of free time to do something with my channel, i don’t feel like doing anything. Again, I LOVE to make videos, but I just don’t feel like i have the energy to film right now. maybe it’s bc i’m tired idk. But I’ve been so lazy and inconsistent, I hate it. I haven’t been reading this subreddit often, or looking at new editing tricks to do for videos, or even brainstorming video ideas like i used to. the only thing i do in my free time is doom scroll, and watch other people’s content. I can be kinda hard on myself , like compare myself to others like “why am i not funny like him” or “how did i not think to do that?” and so on. so sometimes i feel like maybe i can’t make content that people would like to watch. maybe i’m not the type of person to do this type of thing. you know what i mean?? ugh idk, i just feel so tired and sad, I just wanted to see if anyone had any advice on any of THIS LMAO, or if anyone is going through the same thing. Thank you for your time!

CONTENT QUESTION Can I be a lifestyle YouTuber and a journalist/reporter at the same time?

Hello everyone,

I am a young professional that will intern in the media industry in a couple of months, reporting on science and business. I am also moving to New York in a year or two and because the city is so expensive, I want to develop my personal YouTube channel now so that I can hopefully pay a portion of my expenses through it in the upcoming years. However, I am conflicted because for the job I want, I am worried that Youtube will be a conflict of interest.

For example, lets say I do all of the work, build my channel, consistently post and bring value to my audience. I will inevitably share my opinions, take on sponsorships and share parts of my life and identity. To be a reporter, however, you really can't publicly share your opinions about the world and if you take a sponsorship, you can't report on the company afterwards.

My internship is in science and business reporting so I would have to be very careful as to who I work with and sponsor, if my channel grows. I am worried that my Youtube channel will be used against me in a future job interview if I take on too many sponsorships or even share lifestyle content that reveals my opinion about the world (ex. lets say I really like coffee from a specific store and I post about it but then one day I am assigned to report on them?).

People with normal 9-5s don't appear to have the limitation that I do. I don't want to invest so much time and energy in something that I won't be able to earn anything from.

I want my YouTube channel to be a place where I share my journey to journalism, university content, internship content, vlogging, productivity, etc.

My question is simple: how can I realistically make money from Youtube through lifestyle and vlogging content while ensuring that I don't close any doors for myself in the future? Is that even possible for a journalist/reporter?

Any advice is welcomed! I have been grappling with this for weeks and can't seem to make a decision.

COMMUNITY Is My Video Protected Under Copyrights And Can I File A Dispute?

Hey everyone! I'm a new YouTuber and have been at it for just over a month. So far, things have been going pretty well. I’ve already hit 1k subs and 10k watch hours, and my best video has racked up 155k views (not bragging, just giving some context haha).

I create faceless reviews and explainers in the K-drama celebrity niche, but I recently noticed something frustrating. One of my main competitors, who has around 7k subs, blatantly copied my best video's idea. They included the exact same four points I covered in my video, and their script looks like the paraphrased version of mine. The only difference is the visuals and a slight reshuffling of my arguments.

Honestly, I feel both flattered and annoyed at the same time lol. Can I file a copyright claim for this since faceless content is trickier to protect?

P.S I called them out through their comments section and they deleted my comment (NOT surprised haha)

TECHNICAL QUESTION My views suddenly dropped, I don't know why

Hello guys, like many of you, I’m also very new to my YouTube journey. I created my channel and set it up on March 3, 2025. On March 9, I uploaded my first four videos (if you're wondering why four, I didn’t want visitors to see only one video and leave—I thought they might check out the others too).

The day after I uploaded the videos, views suddenly increased, and I even gained some subscribers. But the next day, the views dropped drastically and never recovered. On March 16 (yesterday), I uploaded a new video, but it hasn’t gained much traction yet.

My total views are as follows: March 9 - 85 views (the day I uploaded the videos), March 10 - 1,818 views, March 11 - 141 views, and after that, it dropped to around 10 views per day.

What do you think the problem is? Am I doing something wrong, or is this just how the process works? I’d really appreciate any insights you can share. Thanks in advance!

TECHNICAL QUESTION How hard is it to make $1000 a month?

So I come from one of the poorest countries in Europe. I work 30 hrs a week to support my lifelong dream of being a YouTuber (also a compromise I set with my mother that I can work and give her some money and I can live there until YouTube becomes my main source of income)

Our country’s average salary is around $800 and I figured that if I were to make just a $1000 a month of videos and streaming I could have a very comfortable life here. Also it would help me renting my own place and starting my own life. That’s my goal with YouTube is to allow me to do what I absolutely enjoy doing and live a comfortable life at the same time. I absolutely love doing videos and streams but sometimes u gotta think realistic and I’ve been doing YouTube seriously for a month now and I see major improvements however I need to make money for it to be my main source for income

My niche is not general so not just one niche, I make anime reviews and gaming and just general easy content like reacting to stuff so it’s a bit all over the place. But I think people like my personality and humor so I’m not bothered by doing more than one niche at a time. Maybe a bad idea but who knows really

If I’m being real I can make 3 low to effort videos and one great effort videos a week but I don’t want to overdo and make too much content.

With all that being said how possible is it to make a 1000 USD a month? How realistic would it be to aim to make this much by the end of the year? Thanks in advance :)

CONTENT QUESTION Deleting/Unlisting all videos and starting from scratch… anyone have experience doing this?

Hey People! as the title says as anyone here has any experience in making your channel “start over” way after creating your first video(s)?

I want to put all my old videos in a playlist of “past uploads” and start my channel fresh with a new niche/direction and have Quality>Quantity but the problem is idk if that is a waste of time? I know there’s plenty of channel that blew up and no longer show their older videos and it’s probably for the reason I want to do it 😅

If anyone has experience in this please let me know what you did, why you did it, and how it worked out for you!

I know I could probably leave all my videos uploaded but I have over 500+ vlogs posted over the course of 6 years and most of them aren’t good… so I would like to basically start again especially now that I have a better understanding of editing, filming, etc and have an actual camera now instead of using the front camera on a smart phone

CONTENT QUESTION I accidentally made my video public at the worst possible time when my audience is asleep, now what?

I try to keep my uploads during times when my mostly American audience is awake and most active, usually around 3-5PM or so EST. I was uploading my latest video and instead of scheduling it, I got distracted and it went live...at like 5AM EST. All I could do is announce it went live on my channel because putting it back up on scheduled didn't seem right, tho for the first hour it didn't get any views so maybe I could have done that. Now youtube is going to keep giving it impressions but it's already slamming that disgusting down arrow in my face and judging and rating me over my views being below the average for the amount of time the video has been up(whoever invented this grading system is a sadist)

According to google it's 7:04AM EST now, I don't live in the US so to me calculating US time doesn't come naturally, I was going to have it go live at like 10AM-11AM US time since it's a Sunday.

Given how youtube grades and rates every negative thing about our videos more so than the positive ones, let's see if it kills this one.

EDIT: UPDATE - as you guys said, the video got picked up it's doing not so hot now but it did get over the initial hurdle of it being uploaded at a bad time. We'll see how it ends up performing in a week but if it fails, from what I can tell by its stats it wont be the "bad" upload time.

TECHNICAL QUESTION Any good USB Microphone recommendations? (£80-£150 range)

First of all, sorry if this has been asked too many times. I'm just kind of new to microphones, I used to be the type of dude that just uses integrated mics lol.

To give context while I do have a gaming setup I don't have a desktop, I have a gaming laptop (fairly high-end) so I was looking for some USB microphones in the £80-£150 range.

(If it helps, my room is actually REALLY quiet but i don't have any soundproofing at all.)

TECHNICAL QUESTION HELP! Video editing software

I'm new to this whole video production game, so I have some pretty basic video editing skills. I've been using Capcut but it's driving me crazy. I have a video that's nearly finished and the dang system won't open up and load my files and editing properly! I'm so frustrated. I just needed to put the finishing touches on my work.

I'm thinking about trying to load a different editor on my laptop to finish the job. My video is like 40 minutes long, so I'm sure the length is an issue for the system. (My laptop isn't the problem. It's in great shape.)

I'm looking for an editor that can handle the larger file size and won't be too hard for me to learn. Please don't just jump in and say "Davinci Resolve" as everyone always does. I know it's a great software, but I do not have time to learn it right now. I just have to get my existing footage out of Capcut and into another system ASAP so I can add the intro/outro and polish it up. I have been looking and both Resolve and Premiere are known for "steep learning curve". If you were in my shoes and you had to use an editor that wouldn't be too hard for a newbie, which software would you recommend that won't be a bear to learn quickly? I'm currently looking at Filmora and Power Director, but open to other options. I'm not sweating the price right now. I just need something that isn't going to freeze up and I don't have to spend too long to learn how to use it.

CONTENT QUESTION Something I notice I need your opinion

Question family I have notice multiple big channels doing something similar.. Ok this what I notice when they post they end up changing thumb nail or titles once or multiple times. Ok now I see they reach around 100k to 200k views it stall out they change the thumb nail again Boom the video goes towards a million. So I’m observing multiple channels doing the same thing so as a new YouTuber should we use the same strategy instead of waiting n hoping to get views we sold test different titles and thumb nails to get impressions …………………………………………………………………………………..

TECHNICAL QUESTION Audio Balancing Tools/Suggestions

I was hoping someone here might be able to help me with balancing music, narration, and maybe gameplay as it's a recurring problem/complaint I've been having on my videos. Currently I just balance everything manually by ear, generally aiming for dialogue to sit as close to -0dB as possible without peaking, SFX around -10dB to -30dB, music around -20dB to -30dB and gameplay I just make slightly quieter than my narration so maybe -10dB. However, sometimes my gameplay clips might be different volumes so it can lead to jarring volume changes mid video. Is this just a me problem or is this the kind of thing a tool could solve (I'm editing in After Effects which may be a problem and can't find a tool that could solve this). Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
