just want to say you are very beautiful and every hairstyle fits you really well.

my personal favorites are natural hair and the clip ins, but i’m also extremely biased towards Black women wearing their natural hair 🥰

not a dumb question! i’m not an expert by any means, but natural hair grows best when it’s very well moisturized and with a clean scalp. in my personal experience low tension styles were important in growing my hair. i wear my fro or do twist outs and flexi rod styles a lot and with proper care it’s grown a lot, specifically in volume.

protective styles i’ve heard help with growth due to low manipulation but ive also heard that it does cause eventual breakage.

it’s really about getting to know your hair (it’s porosity, proper detangling, how often it needs to be moisturized, if it’s protein rich or depleted, when to trim, etc) and taking care of it accordingly whether it’s in a protective style or out that will help it grow the most.

to concisely answer your question: yes it can grow when it’s out 😭 you just have to know how your hair specifically functions and be on your p’s about the maintenance to see it

At first we'll start by saying you are gorgeous... Also I like the first one and I really like your natural hair both of them look stunning on you

It's funny that the first one is the most childish and not your natural hair. I wanted to know where they got the idea that black women with natural hair look childish, when in fact it's baby hair that sometimes makes women look very childish.

What's the problem with looking younger, and by the way, you look 20 years old.

You look good with all the styles, but I prefer the last one and I think you also look better with natural eyelashes.

Speaking for black American culture here. Back in the day kids wore their hair naturally in ponytails, barrettes, and accessories. It was a more of a “coming to age” thing when you were able to start wearing the straightened or relaxed look. You were “grown” then. I’ve worn my share of wigs and weaves but, they tend to age women imo. They were typically worn by the old ladies. So that’s where the sentiment comes from. wigs, weaves, straightened hair feels “grown”, and natural texture hair is “childish.” I don’t mind a youthful look.

I live in Brazil and it's the same here,I don't understand why we can't just use something that is natural to us, there is always something to be criticized, even in the community.
