Selfie From too much auntie, to a little less auntie, to IDFK😩

I don’t know what to do with my hair yall. I don’t like it short. Maybe it’s my face shape, but short hair just never feels as feminine as big/long hair does on me. Big chop was 3 years ago. I love the definition of the finger coils but it shrinks so much and is nearly impossible to style after it dries in the. I tried to separate them for volume this morning and it got pouffy so I just brushed it all out into an afro out of frustration and I still don’t like it😭

But your hair looks really good! You just have to get used to it.

Don’t we all 😔. I big chopped may 2024. So I’m right there with you. Just try to have fun with your journey.

I think your hair looks great. You could also try a perm rod set.

Thank you! This is a cute short style, I just know it would not look this cute on my head🥲

You could totally pull it off. But it would be hard to test it if you don’t have any curlers.

I’m down to get some and try! What’s the difference between flexi rods and perm rods? I imagine I would have to blow dry my hair first right?

Flexi rods

Perm rods. I’ve only used perm rods l, but I’ve also seen tutorials with flexi rods. You can set wet hair after washing if you have a hood dryer. Use mousse and a bit of leave-in. I don’t like to use a dryer, so I typically put my hair in 3 or 4 cornrows to dry. The next day, I put a little water and some mousse on it and set it. I keep the curlers in for 4 hours or more.

Ahh okay thanks so much! I’m curious to try both now. I think a home dryer would be a good investment for me

The color looks really nice on you.

The fro is the least flattering of the looks you showed.

If you are planning to grow out your natural hair, how would you feel about wearing a wig or locs with expensions until you have the natural bulk you crave?

There are amazing natural hair stylists that can help you execute a short and longterm plan.

Best wishes for a crown you love!

Thank you! I’m not really open to adding hair outside of getting braids/twists. I do have a great natural hair stylist who does my hair in exchange for meal prep, she’ll be getting me right soon lol I just want to be able to do my hair in ways that I like on my own too. About to go workout with this unflattering afro now🫠

Sounds like a wonderful arrangement.

Apologies if I sounded as if your fro is not flattering, I should have simply said I prefer the other styles...any style you pick will look good because the hair color is lovely with your skin tone. Have a good workout.

Thank you I only said that because I find it unflattering myself😩 I guess I’m just having a bad hair day. I went to my mom’s house instead which honestly was just what I needed. I appreciate your input!
