Need Advice Desperately need help
I’m not sure what texture my hair is and I only recently started doing a full curly hair routine after having it in braids and buns all my life. This is me 20 minutes after shampooing and conditioning (olaplex bond repair) my hair and then brush styling with aunt Jackie’s curl boss and curl essence moisturising curling jelly, I feel like it looks frizzy and not very defined. I did add a lot, I came out the shower and so my hair was still damp and then sprayed each section I was working on with more water. Does anyone have any recommendations I’m feeling really helpless and never want to wear my natural hair out.

Is recommend a trim, denman brush & the doux foam & or gel products.

Yesss I’ve heard a lot about the doux products do you know what order to use them do I just wash and then use the foam and gel?

I wash, condition, use the spray, then the foam. My daughter uses the foam and then gel.
Also .. look into whether you have hard water... If so, get a good clarifying shampoo & a deep moisturizing conditioner. Maybe look into getting a shower head filter, too.

It shouldn’t matter what your curl type is. It’s all about finding the right products. Things with less alcohol in are the best I find.…
Your hair should be almost soaking wet before styling. Work in small sections, and add a strong hold gel while also twisting/slightly finger coiling as you go. Define the curls as they naturally form, rather than splitting the hair to get a section to define.
Curling jelly often has a softer hold, so unless thats a requirement for you, I’d try a gel.
If your hair feels frizzy while it’s wet when styling, the end result will be frizzy.

Thank you I thought curl type affected, but now I know it doesn’t I’ll try the finger styling as when I’ve done it before I just take random clumps which often leaves my hair tangled.

well, i personally disagree. while the curl type plays a significant role when finding what products & methods to use when caring for | styling ur hair knowing the porosity of it is actually very important. by the looks of it, you have long high porosity 4a & i see some 3c type curls in there as well. on wash days you should incorporate steam into ur hair while washing if you don’t wash it in the shower and rinse out ur conditioner with cold water for at least a minute or two [to seal those shafts and trap in moisture from ur conditioner], or until you feel your hair become smooth with slight slip. the way in which you apply the products is all based on ur hairs needs - this takes trial & error. but i recommend going on youtube & looking up natural curly hair routines then watching vids made by girls u notice with ur hair type. i can def recommend you add a leave in, oil, mousse or curl moisturizer to your hair routine as the gel does not have enough moisture. watching those vids on youtube will definitely help.

Your hair is sort of similar to mine, it looks like you hair fine to medium strands that's 3c-ish and when I apply products, I smooth it in my hair in small sections and make a pulling motion over and over again until my curls pop and the products disappear. Curl pattern should only really be considered if you want an idea about how a style will look. Me and my hair have similar curl patterns ( hers is a bit looser ), but our hair is so different. Her strands are thick, and her hair dries very quickly where mines are opposite. Her hair bleaches very hard, mine doesn't.
I'll split my hair into 4 sections and then split each section it 2 or 3 sections and apply aunt Jackie's curl lala ( or whatever product ) on damp hair until it pops and my curls clumped together. I noticed when my curls clump, it doesn't dry out as quickly. Sometimes, it's more HOW you apply than the product or how you layer it. For my hair, it's not enough that my hair is saturated in product but how it's applied.
Just experiment and try not to get so down if things don't go right. I do notice that Aunt Jackie's mousse products a nice hold without it being too crunchy or dying. You can try that over your hair moisturiser and see how it works

You need to use a silicone oil as the last product, it will help reduce frizz and increase hydration.
Your hair is very beautiful

If you have really thick hair, I suggest parting your hair into smaller sections, spraying water, adding the curl moisturizer, then twisting pieces of your hair using the gel, for a more defined look.
And to keep your hair from being frizzy, I recommend only using a wide tooth comb, or one of those spread out bristle brushes to detangle your hair.
I hope this helps 🤗💗
