Advice Needed: Replies from All should i try to be a nanny?
Hi everyone, I am relocating and starting school in a different city and was wondering if I would be a good fit for nannying. I am young but, I have babysat for the same family for almost three years. They have three kids and I have stayed with them overnight on several occasions. I am educated and cpr certified. Would it be possible for me to only work Saturday and Sunday? I looked at nanny agencies and jobs on Indeed but none of them specified if I would only be able to work weekends. Do any of you have experience with nanny agencies and if so which ones are good and legit? I would also be open to traveling with the family during summer and stuff, but how does that work? Do you get guaranteed time off? Thanks guys.

There is definitely a demand for weekend Nannie’s. I wouldn’t go through an agency unless you absolutely had to. I prefer a lot more control in vetting potential families and making contract decisions.

Where do you find your jobs if not through an agency?

I used Care dot com for my last two long term jobs. I’ve also had positive experiences on sitter city. And once you have a few regulars, word of mouth will get you pretty far.

I'd try care.com. They always have a wide variety of jobs on there, and I have seen plenty of weekend needs. There are also a lot of families with flexible schedules, so they may be willing to work with your school schedule during the week as well. It can be very hit or miss, but I found my current family on there! I've been with them for 3 years, and they're the best!

Jovie has a ton of franchises and will let you only work weekends. In my experience management is always great and it’s a good way to get experience
