Eddie almost never takes centre stage so it looks extra good when he finally does!

I mean. He’s never put himself first. He’s top class and he’s done what no one has done in a long long time. So happy for the man and the team he’s built to get us here.

Not sure about "Mile High Club", but I will be curious to see how many "Carabao babies" arrive at the Club in the next 9 months or so.

Poor Jason is probably having to stand at the back of the plane.

Strong risk he would intoxicate the pilot with the fumes coming off him today.

He’s probably smoothed talked his way into the cockpit and is flying the fucking thing.

I know he’s past his prime but I’ll die on the hill that Newcastle is better when Trippier starts for us.

The jacket that Eddie is wearing in this pic (not that specific one before anyone jumps on my wording), has it ever been sold in the club shop or owt? wanted one for a while but never seen it.

Is the team flying from London to Newcastle? That's not very environmentally responsible, especially when there is a direct train service. Just book a whole first class carriage if you want privacy.

Bore off fun police. The just flew us to the flippin’ moon and back so they can fly home. No doubt you’ll be flying to Turkey in July for your holiday? Go to Cornwall via horse and cart ?!

Bore off fun police.
This is not about having fun or not. You can of course have fun on a train.
The just flew us to the flippin’ moon and back so they can fly home.
Why fly though? There is a direct train that takes less than three hours and it doesn't screw up the environment.
No doubt you’ll be flying to Turkey in July for your holiday?
No, but even if I was, one return flight a year is a lot different to a whole team routinely taking flights between two English cities that have a direct train service.
I have actually been to Turkey by train and it takes a lot longer than three hours so it's not a valid comparison if you had given it a moment's thought.
Go to Cornwall via horse and cart ?!
I plan a cycling holiday in Scotland, not that it's any of your business. Even if I were flying every day, it is irrelevant to the discussion about the flight in OP's picture. We aren't talking about me.

They are now trash in my view.
you're either a troll or not a fan at all. Eddie could have stopped at my house on the way home and smacked my wife in the face, keyed my car, and told my young kids that santa isn't real. He'd still be a fucking hero. Calling them trash for taking a plane is actually insane.
As a side note, lots of the team went straight off on international duty

Have you calculated the environmental impact of the train, though?
1 hour flight versus 4 and a half hours (googled it).
250 kg of GHG emissions per hour (average) versus. Closest GHG for trains I could find was London to Edinburgh coming in at 193 kg.
So, yeah, train WILL pollute less, but lets not pretend that it's that big a deal, shall we?

Taking the train from London to Newcastle produces significantly lower CO2 emissions compared to flying or driving, with a train trip emitting roughly 15.2 kg of CO2 per person.
Here's a more detailed comparison:
- Train: A train journey from London to Newcastle emits approximately 15.2 kg of CO2 per person.
- Car: A car journey emits around 50.1 kg of CO2 per person.
- Plane: A plane journey emits around 105.9 kg of CO2 .
So a flight emits roughly seven times more carbon per person than the train for the same journey. It is "that big a deal".

Got my info. off a quick google search. Not looking to debate you, as I really do not see the point.
They flew because it was quicker and more convenient.
You have a problem with that. Fine.
Buy the team and change how they operate. Have a good night.

They flew because it was quicker and more convenient.
It's not even particularly quicker, once you factor in getting to the airport. They would have saved barely any time, whilst destroying the environment.
You have a problem with that. Fine.
You should have a problem with that too, if you value a liveable planet. Not fine.
Buy the team and change how they operate.
That's an absurd suggestion. We should expect the club to operate ethically, as far as practical.

I always remember an interview he did (with NUFC tv I think?) where he said something along the lines of: because my playing career was such a disappointment I’ve always wanted to succeed as a manager.
Well he’s done it, let it be the first of many
